I'd still recommend Arc Rise Fantasia though, it has a great battle system and a lot of customization. Really challenging aswell, but in a good way, the bossfights are always a highlight.Just don't play the game in english

Path of Radiance is the standout case of good=/=harder. It's still fairly well designed and does a lot of things really well from a mechanical and writing standpoint for the series. It just needs better difficulty options and maybe better graphics and animations.
