Find a flaw.
>>
Comedically tiny disk.
>>
>>339079501
you placed the disc down the the wrong side
>>
It was never remastered.
>>
Nintendo abandoned cartridges.
>>
>putting your disc on a scratchy wood surface
shiggy
>>
Those tiny little fuckers could take hell and still work perfectly, durable as shit.
>>
>>339079606
I always liked the mini-disk. It made carrying your games around in a pouch simple as fuck.
>>
You can't use it in Bongland
>>
Too many scratches on that wood
>>
>>339079501
The whole is too small for my dick.
The sequel was better.
>>
It's not in its proper case.
>>
>>339079501
Literally can't. That game is in my top five of all time
>>
>>339079501
Slow, backtracking for artifacts, mediocre platforming at best, combat is mostly lock on + strafe
>>
That wooden table is FUCKED

Fod Fucking damn say what you will about metroid prime but it definitely was a good transition from 2d to 3d at the time. And how surprising other M was considering it was from the samw dude who made the best well known metroid game.
>>
>>339079501
The series was in its prime during that game.
>>
>>339079501
It has a sequel.
>>
There's a hole in the middle.
>>
>>339079501
Your desk is shit.
>>
I liked the dark atmosphere of Echos more.
>>
no mouse support

missing scans was a thing if you have autism

scanning should not be necessary to fight things

its sequels were still good, but obvious declines in quality
>>
>>339079789
>slow
>mediocre platforming

We're not talking about Super Metroid here
>>
>>339079789
Pretty much the same problems I had with the game. I got bored of it right before the ridley fight.
>>
WHERE'S THE FUCKING BOX YOU MONG CUNT
>>
>>339079667
>he never played it on an emulator
>>
>>339079501
PUT IT BACK IN THE CASE!
>>
>fps
>auto aim mechanic
Its shit. Console centered FPS are all shit and this one is no exception even if it has a lot of other good design elements the core gameplay is trash.
>>
Scan icons were hard to spot sometimes, thankfully they fixed that in the sequel by highlighting the entire object instead.
>>
>>339079501
i... i like big disks OP-sama
>>
>>339079501
I prefer 2d metroids, but that's not really a flaw and prime was still fun.
>>
>>339080136
>metroid prime
>an fps

nigga
>>
>>339079501
Morphballs don't have giant holes in the middle of them.
>>
>>339080023
>in an alien world where you have magic bird technology that can tell you weakness and critical information in mere seconds about dangerous creatures trying to kill you
>you don't use it because it pauses the game for a few seconds
alright.

Om another note, I wish Nintendo would hand the IP off to a competent team who could make a game around cataloging flora and fauna of new planets as a federation scientist.
>>
>>339080275
he's just saying that we've reached a point in game design where the way you interact with a game matters

there are obviously right and wrong way to do it

pressing 2-4 buttons at once just to shoot at something, when all you're really doing is just firing a plasma bolt at their torso while walking sideways, is a shit way of interacting with enemies
>>
>>339080436
Well it's not really Retro's fault Nintendo refuse to design a rational controller.

They worked with what they had and it came out great.
Plus the controls are pretty fluid after you get used to them.
>>
The fact that Halo came out a year earlier and standardized console shooters having a separate stick for camera control. The game's mechanics were simpler than Zelda's until the Trilogy re-release
>>
>>339080764
>standardized console shooters having a separate stick for camera control
Aliens resurrection on the psx did that before Halo.
>>
>>339080436
>>339080136

>playing the game as if it were an fps

when i was a dumb teenager i was as stupid as you faggots, but replaying it recently i realized it's a masterpiece in game design. you literally press a button to lock onto enemies, but the fun comes from exploring a 3d metroid experience that has difficult but fair bosses.
>>
>>339079501
laying it down like that
>>
>>339079501
i cant read the text under "metroid"
>>
>>339080560
>Well it's not really Retro's fault Nintendo refuse to design a rational controller.
But the gamecuble controller is exactly the same as an xbox controller, minus one bumper and a different facebutton layout.

>triggers
>four facebuttons
>left stick, right stick
>d-pad
>>
>>339079501
doesn't have the rounded edges of the wiiu discs
>>
>>339079707
My thoughts exactly,
Wtf op, are you a mongoloid?
>>
>>339082878
We both know the gamecube c-stick is not a valid second analog.
Sure they could have gave it the camera, moved the map to start somehow and made z the beam switcher with holding it plus the left analog.
But I think what we got was best.

>no full right analog
>small as fuck d-pad
>awkwardly sized face buttons
>>
>>339079667
Wasn't the prime trilogy collection a remaster or was it just with corruption wiimote controls?
>>
>>339083746
It had worse graphics than the originals
>>
morph balling through narrow guardless platforms
>>
>>339079894
The gameover screens were traumatizing

The backside of your disc is gonna have tons of flaws if you lay it down like that a lot.
>>
- health in lower left corner in full amount (Ex.342/500) - missiles and power bombs in lower right corner (Ex.15/35 - 2/5) - 2D Minimap in upper right corner
- circle pale blue reticle when nothing in sight, orange when something scannable, red when something needing activation

- scanning is not a view mode but a direct action - scanning is instantaneous
- toggle between rapid fire and charged - holding shoot button continuously fire

- map is 2D by default and always facing north, default settings can be changed
- map shows powerups when discovered and if applicable, power required to obtain

- standard FPS controls, left stick move, right stick look, reticle always in center

>I write down everything that I would change in a game whenever I play one, I'm just autistic like that
>>
>>339087668
Are you the same person who mentoined having a .txt in the xbx thread?
>>
>>339087873
no, never played xbox
>>
Am I the only one who thinks the Metroid Prime series is on of the only series improved by motion controls?
>>
>>339087986
was meant to be Xenoblade x, although wouldn't the power-up applicable be a spoiler saying you're getting space jump boots, or a plasma beam etc. I suppose they could have require ??? if you don't have it yet
>>
>>339088170
Warioware managed to do motion controls well too, I also kinda like what XBC, RD, and Brawl did by not using them
>>
>>339084272
No, they were better EXCEPT that the visor effects were missing, which is a damn shame because they were one of the best little touches.

I really wish there was some way to play it with a mouse without sacrificing the visor effects.
>>
>>339079789
>backtracking
It's a fucking Metroid game. The artifacts were supposed to encourage you to go exploring for power ups.
>>
>>339088194
nope, never played xenoblade either and anyways I rarely post on /v/

there would be an interrogation mark by default and once you get the ability, the icon would change
>>
What sack of shit would disrespect a video game disc by putting face up on ANY surface. Kill yourself OP, you're a disgrace to Metroid.
>>
>>339080023
2 was better than 1 in terms of gameplay. Of course you can't beat the atmosphere of 1, but 2 really benefited from the extra dev time.
>>
>>339088692
>2
>extra dev time
I thought 2 was hurried out within 10 months of 1
>>
it was fun locking onto things to scan them even with a gc controller
>>
This game bored me after 15 minutes. Never played it or its sequels after that and I love the 2d metroids.

The circle strafing gameplay played just fine in my opinion.
>>

>>
>>339079501

Chozo Keys, but even then they're not much of a flaw since you can start collecting most of them the moment you reach the area that contains them.

I guess the loading times were pretty inconsistant as some rooms would load instantly, but then you come back, and open the same room and it would take like 10+ seconds. But it was Retro's first released game so I'll let it slide.

Metroid Prime's flaws are very minor at best.
>>
The only way to play it on a modern console is wii waggling bullshit
>>
>>339079501
That disc isn't square, it'd hold more data if it was

>>
>>339079501
It's boring, slow, and the artifact hunt kills the flow of the game.
>>
>>339079723
wat
Yes I can
>>
>>339079501
The disk is face-up and the data side is touching a wooden surface. What's the big idea? Do you want to get that thing scratched up?
>>
>>339079501
The very last boss. The last time I played it was a while back, but I distinctly remember the last stage being a bitch due to having fucking infinite minions (which is something I always despise in bosses that are already capable of fighting on their own) combined with the visor/weapon-switching (which would have been fine, without the minions, who also require weapon-switching).
I know a lot of the combat is based on beam weaknesses after you reach the phazon mines, but forcing it down your throat at all possible moments can get tiring.
>>
>>339092550
Why not use a GC controller on the Wii, genius
>>
>>339079501
