>MEMES
Homeworld
Star Wars Battlefront space battles
>Capital Ships
>ever getting at close range
Space battles of that type would never prosper. We have nukes. So it's quite reasonable to assume at that point, we would have weaponry million times stronger. No need to go face to face, just bombard the shit out of everything from long range or use small squadrons.
Ive been playing homeworld 2 remastered and Sins of a solar empire: rebellion as of late.

I really like it but it gets panned by critics pretty universally. Really interesting factions and a unique rock-paper-scissors battle systemwhich, if that isn't your thing, you don't really need to worry about as long as your fleet is significantly stronger than your enemy's.

It's somewhat simplistic without much depth, clearly made for a wider audience than most 4X games but I really enjoy it. Battles suck ass though. And unlike the anon says, you really won't get the sense of grand scale battles from it.
