http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2016-05-27-total-war-warhammer-is-the-fastest-selling-total-war-game-ever
>trategy game Total War: Warhammer, which is still not called Total Warhammer, is the fastest-selling Total War game ever.
>It sold over half a million copies in the first few days on sale, developer Creative Assembly said.
>That sales success has resulted in the game regularly topping 100,000 concurrent players on Steam, the developer added.

Thank you, based denuvo!

I wonder what devs will blame when they can't put bad sales on piracy.

>Oy vey! It must be the gamers!
>>
Daily reminder that pirates buy more games than non-pirates and piracy is essential for a healthy industry
>>
>>339072864

So you're saying...pirates are necessary for games to sell well?
>>
Oh, it has Denuvo? That's too bad, it was the first Total War game I was interested in trying out.

Guess I never will.
>>
good. i hope they make a buttload of dosh and make a sci fi game that looks as good alien isolation did.
>>
>>339072952
Pirates are necessary for good games, as opposed to simply hyped games, to sell well.

>>
>>339073113
Pretty much. Developers are forced to create games good enough that the pirate feels compelled to buy them.

what does denuvo have to do with a game's success? if its good people will buy it, if its bad people with avoid it denuvo or not

>The game where you literally have to pay thousands of dollars to play the boardgame.
>or pay $70+ to play a """"solid"""" game with the same universe. Traditional universe is also discontinued after this game, so it's the last faithful Warhammer Fantasy game.
>Denuvo will think this is their success
>>
>>339072578
I don't like how they have basically butchered all the diplomacy and such.
Back to Shogun 2.
>>
>>339072864
That's due to word-of-mouth, which companies can not only generate artificially but control to maintain a positive effect. If pirates only ever said good things about the games they pirated, most publishers probably wouldn't care.
>>
>>339073817
pirate here

I'm not buying it

the game looks cool, but I'm not really hard pressed to spend money on videogames

So I might pick it up on sale like I normally do, or just forget about the game entirely in a month or two.

There's a lot of missing settings from previous games.
It's a disgrace, but then again, Total War, and the entire RTS genre has been dead for a while.

In every single thread I have seen the same falseflagging "angry pirates" when you fucks keep screaming about poorcucks and how mad they must be when nobody gives a shit

WHFB universe has gone through a reset in the story. All old factions and lore is gone.
>>
>>339074536
http://natfka.blogspot.com/2015/01/major-changes-to-warhammer-fantasy-in.html

Basically, instead of continuing old Warhammer, they're opting to call it Age of Sigmar and changing almost all of the lore. I think Total WarHammer (and possibly Vermintide) is supposed to be the last tie-in for that universe and brand.

Hey, quick question, then you can go back to your denuvo memes. I never played rts games seriously, but now i want to get into them. What's a good title to start? I loved turn based strategy with civilization. Can you recommend a good rts game? For pc please
>>
I bet there's way more people who are gonna simply ignore it now than those who are going to buy it only because they can't pirate. Whatever.
>>
>>339075880
If you like turn based ones, get the Complete Edition of XCOM, you'll probably find it for $10 on G2A.
Avoid XCOM 2 because it has a lot of bugs and performance issues.

I won't buy it simply because it has Denuvo, and my options are:

Shred my SSD
Put it on my slow backup HD
Assrape my CPU

I choose none. Congratulations CA on keeping me from buying a game I want to.

If you want to get into rts i'll say vanilla age of empires 2 will be a good start, the first campaign of the game is a long tutorial that holds your hand in every step.

I would also recommend Starcraft.

>>
>>339072578

its the fastest selling becuase people are FAR more interested in giant orc and dwarf and undead armies than they are realistic ones.
Realistic war settings are great for nerds that build model trains, but fantasy setting can get the attention of almost any gamer.
>>
>>339077018
if it does it is so slight that it's not even worth mentioning, at least in my experience. I have been unable to find any solid evidence of the supposed ssd destruction or bottlenecking of any kind that is directly linked with denuvo, it's all just conjecture.

I'd rather games not have DRM and i'm sure it was GW that pushed for it but these reasons for hating denuvo are fucking stupid.

>>339076851
pirating is wrong despite whatever shit reason you fags gave it
now steam have refund button so you can try it and spread the news
now devs make shit game, yes, but you need other system to ensure they care more about customer, not by lel their game must be good so pirates will actually buy them. Well guess what no they don't, why the fuck must they pay if it's free
Now it only 2 option, pay and try it, love it then keep it, or don't fucking play it

10 hours is barely enough to get a feel for a TW game, if you dont immediately get huge performance issues you wont refund faget
>>
>>339073467
More that pirates like them, and whether or not they buy the games themselves, often spread word to others who may buy the game.
>>
>>339081435
Completely depends on how much of a crap the crackers give about the game
