martial arts is the best skill, followed closely by stealth. you can use martial arts effectively against all but one boss.
>>
>>339025701
Pistols and Tech Aptitude are the best skills trees in the game to max. Hands down. Opens up the most options, makes getting good outcomes much easier and is the most effective in terms of taking out bosses and enemies.
>>
>>339025821
Wrong. Tech Aptitude and Pistols are the best, no contest.
Without high TA it's actually impossible to get the best outcomes.
You don't need to tag either stealth or martial arts to get some usage out of it.
>>
How close is this to Archer game?
>>
>>339025921
pistols are for babbies, at least use assault rifles. why is technical aptitude the only way to get the "best outcomes"? there are no best outcomes, there are like 25 different endings.
>>
Stick to Martial Arts and Pistols, don't worry about stealth, and if it's hostile, kill it.
>>
>>339025701
Just play the fucking game however you want and put points into at least 1 combat skill because there are unskippable boss fights.
>>
Stealth and pistols are broken as shit, don't go to Moscow first or you'll have a very tough boss fight, always be angry when talking to hot german chick, turn up the radio.
>>
>>339026165
It's all right to admit you don't know shit, but don't go recommending bullshit to people. Moron.

there's a sniper rifle in Darcy's boss area. the final boss is easy, so long as you take an assault rifle with you. you don't even need to level up the skill at all, just hunker down behind that pillar and fire away.

EVEN IF YOU'RE A STEALTH PACIFIST, ALWAYS CARRY LOTS OF LETHAL AMMO. The game makes a distinction between lethal vs non-lethal, but bosses get plot armor for their fights. Pistols is the best path in the game thanks to the headshot crit modifier, chain headshot, and brilliance.

You can basically dump 12 headshots from behind cover at a boss within 1 second - that's enough to kill everything even on the hardest difficulty.

>pistols are for babbies

So the best weapon is for babbies while the "manly" people use the worst ones?

>why is technical aptitude the only way to get the "best outcomes"? there are no best outcomes, there are like 25 different endings

Because there IS shit the requires a set amount of TA to unlock certain options. For example there is one objective where you can either choose to save albatross or go with the main objective (one or the other, you can't do both).
However with high enough TA the game unlocks a third option that DOES allow you to do both.
This is not the only instance of this either.
Also higher TA gives you more options and alternate scenes (like either you or Maya can hack something).

If you actually don't know shit about the game then DON'T open your mouth to try and correct people when you're fucking wrong.

If you want to unlock all the guns and armor quicker, you should do the starting missions in each area (rome, taipay, moscow) to unlock the arms dealers before you move on to the rest of the missions. Mosscow is where the good shit is unlocked. Side with Albatross to buy the motorcross stealth suit and best pistol, then pick the big tits girl with a machine gun in the embassy mission to unlock the best assualt rifles and combat armor.

The only problem with the dialogue system in Alpha Protocol is that in some cases you have no time at all to pick a stance. As soon as a person stops talking, you have to have chosen how you want to respond. Yes you do for your first and second playthrough.
How the fuck is it relevant that once you have veteran you don't need TA for that specific instance? Oh wait, I already know you will stick to this red herring because you of all people cannot be wrong and have to win online arguments.

>No one said TA was useless, but it is far from the best skill in the game.

It literally breaks the game. You can refresh ALL skills with Brilliance. You can clear entire encoutners and rooms flawlessly with stealth+brilliance because you can silently melee takedown people without leaving stealth and brilliance does not remove stealth, meaning you can chains 2 stealths together.
You can also chain for example 2 pistol multishots with brilliance, etc.
It is easily the best thing you can tag in the game and you unlock more options with TA.

>And no one in their right mind plays the game once

Stop projecting.

>He finds you and confronts you for snooping
>You have to try and pacify him through several choices or just shoot him
>If you fail he'll reach into his shirt and you have a split second to decide whether or not to shoot him

Shit was tense.
>>
>>339032672
the problem with technical aptitude is that to get to Brilliance, you have to waste valuable skill points on things that you definitely do not need at all.
>>
>>339025701
Spec in pistols, DON'T BE A FOOL LIKE I WAS, don't use the shotgun.

yes, you just have to select a kill option in dialogue with certain characters, you can't kill them during normal gameplay.
>>

Yes there is an achievement for it, the only character you can't kill is Heck and whoever you don't take for the assault Brayko mission
>>
>>339032878
Yeah man
Prepare for a sad ending
>>
>>339032886
by the time you finish stealth the game is almost over. might as well just level up a combat skill instead and have something to blow all that money on.
>>
>>339032752
you can hop around the intro missions in each hub to unlock all the best weapon/suits a little earlier but as far as "optimal" it doesn't really matter. the order has some effects on dialog and other neat little touches but that just encourages replayability which is great.
>>
>>339032997

taipei makes sense to do first since that's an assassination and you never know when that will happen. the other two objectives are more passive. also you meet scarlet on the plane and she's going to taipei.

you don't, you can actually impress SIE by killing Marburg before you meet her. the requirements are having the Suave perk and using all Suave responses with Marburg, and you also need to do something to attract attention in Rome, like sniping Al-Bara or killing the NSA agent at the ice cream store.

You need the Suave perk, all suave responses and at least a -3 rep with him which you get by making your presence known in Rome by killing Albara, the Gelato man, and alerting the CIA during the listening post mission, you also get +1 for getting a bunch of dossier info and Thorton will auto bring it up, you also get a +1 with Marburg for picking the bombs over Madison.

Recruit, Recruit, Recruit. You don't miss out on too much by losing those skill points, just make sure you finish all your training and you're gonna have to be smart about the order you select your first missions in if you want to approach them with a specific style (say, stealth) - which is great for a first-timer. You don't really /lose/ anything if you don't, but it's still fun.
Protip: you get a special 'Recruit' dialogue option during your orientation and training, and if you pick it enough times it gives you some extra skill points but it's not always the best option for Reputation
Also also: don't give a fuck about perks, you get perks for fucking everything (both literally and figuratively); so go nuts - you didn't miss out on something better just because the perk you got doesn't seem applicable to your playstyle.
>>
>>339036631
