Inafune's shady character and rpeutation was always known to people who researched the subject a little, but that didn't necessary mean most of the people acknowledged it or simply knew about it. He was for the most part considered the victim in the Legends 3 debacle and even when people were explaining what he actually did during his time at Capcom, it was ignored for either blind hype toward the game or just more Capcom bashing.
So, yes, I defilitely feel he had a lot of lose, considering he had a shitload of credentials and reputation by the time the MN9 KS launched, and it was by itself a huge success. Compare the 4 million they got for MN9 and the blunder that was Red Ash, a lot less people trust him and see him as a con. I doubt that sort of failure will be forgotten quickly.

Except that has no historical or factual basis. From their inception games were primarily targeted at adults and gaming was a often done by people who could afford the expensive computers and had the ability to program their systems. After the videogame crash and the rise of nintendo seen as a toy platform marketed to kids, it got a labeled as kiddy in the US which made the whole violence in videogames business of the 90s even more stupid. Basically everywhere else gaming has always been considered an all ages sort of thing.
Sure you can argue that there isn't any historical precedent for pepperoni being for kids, but pepperoni and videogames aren't even analogous and you made the cardinal sin of (unwittingly) making a food analogy, which only further proves how much of a mental paramecium you are.
