You get EXP bonus if you win.
And a team with a non-retarded composition is more likely to win.
But none of this matters, because you can't force people to play someone they don't want to play. If there's a player on the team who plays a support hero occasionally, they will likely do so, if they see that they can't play their main and win in this team.
On the other hand, if you make bonuses for playing support too strong, you'll just get teams full of support players, who just farm exp/crates.

Usually when I use him I stay near cover so if I have to face an enemy, I can discord them, pop behind it, charge up shots, then while my orb is still telling me where they are, I pop out and hit them in the head with the charged shots. It isn't hard, but you have to be quick enough to hit them before the orb comes back to you since they aren't in your line of sight.

In most games I can think of, the healer can keep itself alive more than well enough on their own. The real issue is when they get focused down by the entire enemy team at once, but then anyone would die really.
Healers generally have at least one of:

I found zenyatta works well with any of the other supports bar mercy, because she can usually deal with an entire team of healing by herself. Lucio doesn't really need help, but it can work well with the right team since the orb and his aura stack
symmetra/zenyatta is my favorite, especially if you have a team with a lot of shields/roamers since it supports them well. I do think zenyatta needs some kind of buff since his orbs aren't nearly as useful with the LoS change but he's still my favorite support

The driving force behind religion is that there are 2 things we don't know for absolute certain (at least in a theist's eyes, and we really had no scientific theories to explain it until 150 years ago or so).. What our origin is, and what happens to our consciousness after we die.
People who believe in religions and spirits/souls, still find life to be some miraculous magic, rather than biochemistry.
They don't buy scientific explanations for our existence and instead stick to magic.
For one, the scientific explanation doesn't sate the other unknown, the "what happens after we die?" question. All you know is existing, it's terrifying to think of not existing anymore in any way. Explaining our origin as the creation of a perfect being, who gave us an eternal soul that continues to exist after physical death, is comforting, you don't have to think about not existing anymore. It also makes us feel special, especially in Abrahamic traditions where we're told that we're God's FAVORITE creation, and to those people it gives their life PURPOSE.
Omnics were created by humans, they know the entire history of their race. They know they are nothing but hardware and software, their memory can be erased, their software deleted, their power supply shut off, and they just won't exist anymore. There's no mystery of how they got there or where they go when they "die"
They also know their direct purpose in "life" to serve humans.
I don't know what kind of logic leads them to spirituality in that framework.

Just play Lucio and shoot at people, push them off point, push them off cliffs, and play on point. If people want heals, they can play the objective and get heals constantly, and bigger heals on about a 12 second cooldown, and if they're not taking damage, they can get sanic.

Why is Symetra considered a support? She's a pretty great builder, arguably even better than Tjorn, but she doesn't support at all! Her only means of healing is by giving people 20 shields. Tjorn gives 50 armor, that's more supportive. Soldier 76 actually lets you heal every 8 seconds, that's more supportive too.

The aiming reticle has a circle around it that'll show you the spread. For Soldier 76 the spread is average to mid close range is where you want to be, unlike McCree, who's can snipe as well as sniper as long as you wait a bit before shot or just don't Fan the Hammer. Just don't have the zoom.
