I have an idea for a GS build in Gen that, while maybe not optimal, actually uses combos over charges. Basically you go sleep GS, get the GS art that buffs your next attack and the 10 second charge attack one. when the creature falls asleep, stack buffs and unleash hell.
again, probably not ideal... but damn if that isn't going to feel amazing (and probably pretty good at getting specific breaks).

It's okay because of rapid GS charges equal to about grounded level 2 charges, but accuracy for weakspots suffers with the jump unless you're just a god. You'd likely still get more out of just playing normally. At least I haven't seen an aerial GS do spectacularly.

Actually Blangonga's leap had a pretty fair hitbox before. Most of the time he legitimately would jump over the avatar. Even if you miss time the I-frames on dodge it lowers the character enough that it still shouldn't hit.

End game armors and weapons?
Sure.
The grind is pretty light up until then, and most people enjoy the actual act of fighting monsters so it's far less a "push button for 12 hours" type a grind.
The real trick is to have a large list of things you want so you're never stuck fighting the exact same thing back to back for a long time, which is a quick recipe to hating life.

No it isn't. Took me 10~ runs to get a full set of G-Rank Seregios armor. It's entirely luck dependent as you usually have to get 1-2 pieces of some extremely rare drop to complete a G-Rank set, but you can just as easily get lucky and get it right away and the rest of the materials are easy to come by. You can even fudge the RNG in your favor if you go for breaks and then a capture. It *might* take you a day at most to grind a whole set of G-Rank something armor. Sometimes it could only take up a morning.

Honestly, the monster fights are just so much fun that you don't even take notice of the grinding, especially with all the different types of fun weapons you can use. Even then, most of the grinding aspect comes to down to luck.

The RNG should just decrease every hunt that you don't get certain drops until you eventually just have 100% chance to get them. To avoid bullshitting around for no reason.

I've been scarred at launch, so I don't play CB or IG. While I do admire good GS users, I don't find it fun charging up my unsheathe attack. At least with hammer you can mix it up with charge attacks.
Haven't touched HBG yet because I don't want to spread my resources too thin and I don't like gunners to begin with. Only reason I use bow a lot is to hang out and hunt with low rank people.

That's just incredibly bad luck. The RNG can go both ways in MH. We've all been there and I really wish they'd come up with a system that helps to avoid situations like these, but overall a few anecdotes of bad luck does not mean that the series itself is as grindy as many uninformed people claim it to be.

Yes there is a quest limit. You get 10 tickets everyday and it caps and like 20 something. If you finish your tickets you can take quests but you have to pay zenny and cannot keep the loot. Or so they say.

I've never played an MMO that was so restrictive in regards to content, there's always plenty of things to do that don't involve a lockout and reset period, whereas monster hunter is all quests and preparing for quests
I have to assume the limit is only imposed on your current highest tier of available quests, because if you could only take any ten quests a day that is a pretty fucking big dealbreaker
