I for one was hyped when SF3 came out with it cast of all new characters and then sadly realized they were just sprite swaps of past characters. I mean a truly unique character would be great. This image is so stupid. It doesn't make any sense at all. SFV is pretty limited as far as set play goes seeing how everything that lands damage gets you back to neutral. I don't even know what 50/50s there are supposed to be, no true one at leasts where you legitimately can't reactively defend via either block or jump and then in addition not at least reversal out of the situation.
And it's slow, and people mash jabs...? But what the image creator "expected" was a reliance on fundamentals and an experience akin to SF2? I don't think whoever made this ever played SF2 in their life. If you can't even get people to not mash jabs on you in SFV, people are gonna mash freaking heavies on you in Super Turbo and win match after match doing so.
There seems to be this myth that people just play 3s and st and whatever older game you can think of more "respectfully" because you don't see anyone at a SF2 tournament jump in on people or press buttons like crazy on the defense, that's because these games are old and the meta has evolved to the point where people never miss their antiairs / nobody's willing to take any gambles, and you just do like button xx fireball on someone's wakeup cause if you try to get fancy with fake frametraps or whatever people are gonna do 400 damage reversals on you. The idea that an opponent mashing jabs on you is somehow the fault of the game is ridiculous.
