You need a body to rez someone. A digested body is no longer a body, it's feces so broken down that rezzing it is almost impossible.
It's been specifically stated in the manga that even rezzing someone who's had 30 percent of their body removed or destroyed/burned to ash, etc is so hard to revive that only a highly experienced and capable spell caster can do it.
