Weeb in training here. I bought both Project Diva PS3 games because I enjoyed the gameplay and the vibrancy and choreography of the songs. Don't really care a lot about the music itself but some tracks were pretty good.
Would I enjoy this game since the choreography is probably limited because of the bobblehead models and the gameplay won't be the same as Diva because it doesn't use the Dualshock shapes?

Honestly, Mirai is justified in it's existence simply because of the song covers. That alone makes it worth it.
I personally thought the chibi looks awful, and the sound/difficulty isn't nearly as good as project diva. Tracklist was pretty good, but Mirai's tracks are getting ported to future tone anyway.

I'll admit that the Diva f version has a more difficult notechart, and I won't deny that I would've liked to see more songs in Mirai get the Super Hard treatmentaside from Gaikotsu Gakudan to Riria, that shit's already hard enough, but aside from that, I feel the Mirai version is superior. Mirai also has the full songs, whereas other games tend to shorten them for one reason or another.
Having watched quite a bit of footage of some of the non-Mirai games, it always puts me off a bit how non-expressive all the models are. They're nice and detailed, but the face is almost always an unchanging stare while the mouth moves to the lyrics, at least from what I've seen. Mirai, even with the chibi-fied characters, has them all very expressive and animated, even for the smallest things.
And at least in that specific song, the backgrounds in Mirai are more animated and dynamic for such an upbeat song. In Diva f, Miku and co. are singing and dancing in front of a shrine, where Mirai has Miku on a speeding train through a neverending forest of sakura trees.
I suppose what I'm saying is, Mirai feels more alive than Diva f, at least when comparing those two songs back to back as that video does.

Way better than Diva. If you're going to play a weeb series you may as well go all-out and have fun with it. I loved playing Puyo and collecting everything. The gameplay was a little easy but it was still a lot of fun, much better style than the semi-serious Diva.

True, but it's still not THAT easy to get an all-cool run on some of the harder songs, the rhythm timing's more demanding it seems like. I just see it as a chance to take in all the cute shit that's going on in the background, it's a much more comfy game than the weird mix of edgy and fun in Diva, plus the notes appearing in seemingly random places and blending into the background makes playing for longer sessions painful.
