What is the best Elder Scrolls game and why is it Morrowind?
bethshits are all garbage
The best is Daggerfall because it has lots of things to do and it gives you the most ability to customize your character.

just turn off the waypoint you colossal faggot

Mhmm. Morrowind has about as much depth of an MMO. I hate how teenagers put it on a pedestal. They're no better than Skyrimbabies.
instant gratification generation
that's if they bother to play the game and not just look it up on youtube

Doesn't change the fact that the game is built around using them.

Here's your (You).

Then the quest doesn't tell you where to go.
Thankfully it worked for DOOM, though.

Oblivion > Skyrim/Morrowind

Reminder that there are over 300 NPC's in largest city of Morrowind, while in Skyrim's "equilevant" its far less than hundred.

It's funny to think that if the map marker was off by default, you wouldn't be so triggered.
We might aswell remove map and rely solely on paper guides that you can find and your memory/journal.
Muh hardcore

If they made the game with no map marker from the start, it would be a different game. It's like turning off the radar in GTA: You are free to do so, but the game was built around using it, and it will feel awkward and unpolished without it.

Reminder that Morrowwind's combat is complete dogshit despite this.

But almost all of those NPCs in Morrowind say literally the exact same thing. You could remove a lot of them without any effect whatsoever. Most of the NPCs basically serve as travel guides, telling you information about the city and such. It's fun to read, the first time, but no point in talking to most NPCs after that.
In Skyrim, at least all of the NPCs have unique dialogue, even if its only a few lines. Everyone aside from the guards is a unique character. Admittedly the cities still feel pretty unpopulated, but it was a step in the right direction.

I'm so happy morrowind let you fucking fly instead of having to walk through all the winding, confusing architecture.
