Thank you for saving my thread from page 10, but I'm going to have to ask you to disagree with me so that we can argue about this. I have lots of autism to get out of my system.
>>338379591
Just sperg to yourself while you post more qt white mage girls
well fuck you then
Mages are meant for ______.
>>338381582
Headpats and kisses under hoods and hats
>>338381582
Tender loving after a raid!
>>338381582
Being superior to all other classes.
>>338381492
Hold on, I need to rev up my sperging. Okay, part 1/3
A sample scene in original FFT:
PS1:
Algus: Human? Hmph, ridiculous! From the minute you were born
you had to obey us! From the second you were born you were our
animals!!
Miluda: Says who!? That's nonsense! Who decided all this?!
Algus: It's the Will of Heaven!
Miluda: Heaven? God would never say such things! In his eyes,
all are equal! He'd never let this happen! Never!
Algus: Animals have no God!!
Miluda: !!!!
Delita: Ramza, Is she really our enemy....?
Now, this sounds like actual angry people talking. It has some typos and incorrectly capitalized words, but it's dramatic and has nice impact.

Hugging and being held closely to your chestt. white mage player
>>338381582servicing thick cocks and being a cumdumI play a healer
>>338381797
Now here's the same scene from WotL:
War of the Lions:
Argath: You, no less human than we? Ha! Now there's a beastly thought. You've
been less than we from the moment your baseborn father fell upon your mother in
whatever gutter saw you sired! You've been chattel since you came into the
world drenched in common blood!
Milleuda: By whose decree!? Who decides such foul and absurd things?
Argath: 'Tis heaven's will!
Milleuda: Heaven's will? You would pin your bigotry on the gods? No god would
fain forgive such sin, much less embrace it! All men are equal in the eyes of
the gods!
Argath: Men, yes. But the gods have no eyes for chattel.
Milleuda: You speak of devils, not gods!
Delita: Ramza, is this woman truly our enemy?
Just awful. More vulgarity is added to try and add shock value, and the lines don't sound like something someone would say in the heat of the moment, but more like internet trolling. The impact is blunted by wordswordswords, and as I'll show in a moment, it's not even more faithful to the original script either, so it was purely a flavor decision by someone on the localization team.
Both of them are shit scripts.
The Ivalice games are marred by being written/translated by fucking mongoloids who don't understand the conventions of Old English and randomly throw in YE and THOU at random.
>mfw I play a game and they pronounce Ye as "YEE" and not "The"
>>338381582
Healing me and not being a slut
Fuck you /v/ I'm not gay
>>338382318
3/3
And for the final sprinkle of autism, proof that the original JP script was not written in the Japanese equivalent of Ye Olde English, but in rather modern moon:
In conclusion, WotL throws everything through a bad pseudo-Shakespeare filter for no reason and even though it has some good points (like fixing grammatical errors and the absolutely horribly translated things like the Germinok Scriptures), it's vastly inferior to the original FFT script.
Now we can resume posting FFT girls
>>338382318
Both scripts are good, one is just trying to sound like older English to match the time period
Stop such a turbofaggot
>>338377078
I can appreciate the original and old english versions equally
>>338382782
>older English to match the time period
Not him, but I wouldn't mind if they at least picked up a single book on Old English before they did it, not just pulled it out of their ass.
t. linguist
Daily reminder that white mages are sluts who are LITERALLY only good at sucking cock
>>338383063
...and?
>>338382892
Real old English doesn't even sound close to something comprehensible to modern speakers, so yes they kind of play more Shakespearean diction
>>338382782
Why, though? Ivalice isn't set in ye olde middle ages, it's an 'after the end' time setting. Also like >>338382892 said it isn't even good old english.
>>338383063
White Mages are good at a lot of things and I would appreciate you not belittling them like that.
>>338383063
Nothing wrong with that, anon. I don't deny it.
>>338383127
And you should continue to use us for what we're best at, anon~
>Fire bracelet
>>338383262
You're right, sorry. They're good at bending over and moaning loudly as I fuck and dominate them. They're good at being choked roughly while I pound them relentlessly and they're good atbeing cuddled and kissed after we both cum
>>338382682
>they actually added texto to Miluda's "!!!!"
that's it, the original is better
>>338383320
Bad, but not as bad as WotL removing spell chants altogether. Don't get me started on that, FFT isn't the same without cheesy spell chants.
>>338383684
I'm glad you understand
For some reason I don't have memories of playing FFT but I know I have played it since I own the disc and at least remember watching the cinematic, I was actually wondering if I should emulate the psp one or the original one and OP just answered my question, thanks OP, here is a prize for you
>>338384606
You're making the right choice, please treat your party members nicely and don't have bully each other to grind levels like many people do.
When I first played FF XII 10 years ago, I hated this english, I cold hardly understand whats going on (the fuck is prestidigitator).
Now when my english improved a bit, I patched FFT psx with this translation and I am loving every minute of it.
Since tactics game are heavy with story it certainly improves experience and fits the world perfectly.
It's mostly true, though
Mostly
I'm a little mixed on the WOTL translation. The original was unclear or incomprehensible at numerous points, but some of the touches and naming conventions just irk me.
>>338385516
It can be hard to go back to the fighter classes in FFT after playing a similar games where they get more options. Like outside of Monks, if you're not a mage or monster your skillset tends to be a bland 500 varieties of the same thing kind of deal (Steal, Jump, Charge, Break skills, and so forth). The job system is supposed to ameliorate that, but most of the jobs are too narrowly focused to even be notable combined with a second skillset.
Incidentally, I wish Archers came with Battle Skill instead of fucking Charge.
>>338384606
>emulate the psp
psp is not a viable option just because of the audio alone, shit sounds horrible.
Slowdown can be patched but the audio is fucking bad.
Translation, 16:9 format and new content is a nice thing thought.
>>338387371
Increased rooster size is a very nice addition as well.
>>338387496
Eh, it's not like FFT is a hard game, people loved it so much that they did tedious shit like single-class-challenges.
I don't think it's strictly an SCC since it looks like they're using secondary skills, but there's apparently some famous funny JP playthrough with these 4 white mages that I've been meaning to watch one of these days
>>338388679
Less about being hard, additional rooster size is a good thing just because you dont have to dismiss your well trained characters when special characters jojn your party.
>>338388985
Sorry, I meant to reply to >>338387330 in my first post.
FFT has cute roosters.
