That's actually genius, the animatronic designs this time. They were the scariest thing in the world in the first game due to that horrific uncanny valley creepy thing, then got gradually less and less scary as the turned into generic monsters with red eyes and lots of teeth. So now these new animatronics go back to smooth animatronics but the shifting faceplates look weird and creepy and not just "hurr scary monster".

Only the 2 protags. Each game has at least 8 new characters, each game also has improvements and mechanic changes from the last one like the cherry system in TH07 and the UFO system in TH12.
