How this game become so fucking great? It's literally the best musou crossover game
>Online Cross Play (PS3, Vita, PS4)
>Overworld map with enemies, side quest and bosses. Some enemies have differents reaction depending on daytime like sleeping or interacting with others monsters
>Monster Medal from Heroes are back but now you can BE a monster (yes, playable monster)
>Protags can changes classes
>Party chat is a thing, even with NPCs
>Boss Rush mode with online play

>Won't be translated because square doesn't want the west to have DQ and the first game sold like shit
>dq5 grills not playable outside of multiplayer
nah

First game was published by Koei though

>first game sold like shit
Sauce?

Yuji Horii is a god when it comes to getting more out of less than stellar development teams. I mean, he basically oversaw the only good games Genius Sonority and Level 5 have made. It also helps that Yuji Horii was specifically trying to make a game that caters to DQ fans. Not simply a Musou with DQ characters.
Now, Maribel being able to use boomerangs makes no fucking sense. But I'm not going to complain about one inconsistency when she is now using the best weapon in the DQ series.

>you play as a boss
But its slow as hell though. Fucking gigantes

I find it amusing for some reason.
I completely avoided the first game because there was no multiplayer at all... and now we probably won't get this one.
Thanks, Square Enix!

>and now we probably won't get this one.
What are you even basing this off on?
>>338348342
I loved the first one, this seems to be fuck-fucking tastic
>Vita version
Oh man can't wait to see the PS4 version butchered because of shitty Vita specs. And I actually enjoyed the first one.
>>338349786
Not that anon, but probably because the majority of DQ games don't come west. Every 4 years or so, they release a spin off, complain it didn't sell well, then we get nothing for another 4-6 years. Like how we got Slime no Mori Mori 2 for DS, then didn't get its sequel on 3DS.
Of course, the games do sell well. Usually around 300-600k. But SquareEnix has unrealistic expectations. Thinking a game with minimal funding and no hype should outsell the Japanese version with 30 years of hype and marketing behind it.

You can choose if you want to play only with players that have the same system or crossplay

Why is Maribel so cute? One of the things I'm most excited about in the DQ7 remake is the ability to dress Maribel in cute costumes. I want to breed with her.
>>338350259
But Koei Tecmo is behind it. They release all their games in the west. I'm sure they are the ones that pushed Square Enix to bring the first one westside as well, and will do it again with the sequel.
>>338350352
Because.
>>338350352
But does Maribel want to breed with you?
>>338348342
>Overworld map with enemies, side quest and bosses.
Do you mean like an actual world you can explore instead of just seperate stages? Are there multiple towns or dungeons that you must access by traveling to?
>>338350512
It's been years since I played the game but she liked the hero despite being a huge tsundere, right? Didn't you marry her in the ending?
Was doing a DQ marathon. Stopped at the end of 5 because I didn't want to grind to beat Estark.
Give me a reason to do so.
>>338350352
She's small and rambunctious. Like a chihuahua. Only with the pleasing form of a cute girl.
>>338348342
it doesn't look like a musou though
>>338350792
>Give me a reason to do so.
You shouldn't have to grind to beat him? Even the base family members can beat him. Let alone using a Slime Knight or King Slime. If you happen to get a Great Dragon, he can beat him by himself.
>>338350792
I also dropped 5.
I'm at the part where you save yor wife, but I needed to grind and stopped.
Maybe I'll pick it back up.
I liked it.
>>338350792
Not much of a reason other than "I beat him." But if you're playing DS or Mobile, you don't REALLY win until you get the Catas Trophy from him, which requires you to beat him at an absurdly low amount of turns, to where you'll need Starkers and/or Rebjorn at 99.
>>338350792
Closure.
>>338350792
>Give me a reason to do so.
You're playing video games for the wrong reasons if you need us to provide them.
>>338350990
I'd need to boot up the game again to see my levels but he eventually reks my shit in using the kids and Slime Knight.
>>338351034
I already told myself I wasn't gonna do that because that's just a load of horseshit. Probably gonna do everything but get the Catas Trophy if I ever get back to the game
>>338349083
It sold FAR better in Japan than any other region. In fact, according tovgchartz, it is the PS4's best selling game for Japan, followed by BLOPS3, GTA5, and Dark Souls 3. More than half the sales came from Japan, with 350K. PS3 version sold 490K, and that was released only in Japan. So yes, the bulk of the DQ sales were always in Japan, only the first one was common, and that was only because Nintendo literally gave them away to people.

Not sure about towns but differents area, yes.
There are mountains, deserts, plains, forests, etc
