Ease of availability long after a game has released is a big one. I can easily pick up games I skipped over years ago and decided I want to play on PC, for a good price too. The continued ability to sell the game is quite attractive to publishers. Meanwhile with consoles finding even used copies of certain games can become incredibly difficult, sometimes even selling for more than the original price eg:Xenoblade Chronicles.
The other one would be replaceability. If my house burns down I'm losing a bunch of proprietary systems and their discs/carts, meanwhile I can build a new PC and rape my internet for a month to get everything back. With cloud saves/a backup drive in a safe location all my saves are in tact too.
And that's without considering the adaptability of settings/controls/mods that get brought up all the time in these threads.

Evidently more and more Japanese devs are finding out that isn't the case, the Neptunia games for instance. They released the first one and other than some issues at 1080p it was a decent port and it sold quite well, so they quickly ported the others.
