>Dynamic soundtracks
Why do devs do this? It makes soundtracks even more forgettable than they already are.

Not necessarily. Metal Gear Rising's soundtrack for instance was used appropriately, and the dynamicness where the lyrics kick in when you're kicking ass and nearing the end of a fight just make things more hype.
I also think the game Them's Fightin' Herds is making good use of dynamic soundtrack.

I jack off onto the BJD I made of her every night
I cum in her empty eye socket each time.
>>338344348
No they don't.
>>338344348
>Killer Instinct 2013
>forgettable soundtrack
Fucking kill yourself
>>338344348
Nier is fucking awesome. I love that listening to the OST is great but playing through the game is a different way to listen to the music as well.
>When you go near the fountain at the beginning
Made the town really memorable
>banjo kazooie sound track is forgettable
Hah
>>338344348
Literally wrong

>It makes soundtracks even more forgettable than they already are.

Black/White dynamic soundtrack was fantastic.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fUddEEqS2XQ
Rome: Total War had a great dynamic soundtrack.
>>338344348
It can be done well. Skies of Arcadia's boss themes changed with the momentum of the battle and it was great. Still, too many are crap.
>>338344348
Bullshit, it enhances any good OST when used right.
>not liking dynamic soundtracks
literally SHIT taste

i personally dont like it for slow methodical strategy/simulation games. I like a large regular soundtrack. If it doesnt have that ill mute it and listen to my music library.
>>338344348
If done well, they can really be a good addition. Both Mario Galaxies do it during certain moments.
The halo games have dynamic soundtracks and they are fantastic and plenty memorable.
>>338344348
MGR says you're wrong.
>>338344348
transformers devastation's is amazing in for that, especially shockwave's theme
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oyhI03Em2_E
>mfw shockwave starts doing his mirror beams and seeing how it traps the playable autobot while 2:27 starts playing
>>338344348
>tfw an anon saves your pic
Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze does this well imo
Really does add to the atmosphere to a lot of the levels, especially when you go from land to water.
>>338344348
I don't know man, I still have the wind waker miniboss theme stuck in my head.
Dynamic soundtracks are only forgettable if they would've been forgettable with or without the dynamic aspect anyway.
Dark Souls 3 is a prime example.
>>338344348
what a stupid and awful opinion
>>338344348
>having taste this shit
>>338344348
Fuck you senpai Jak 2 did it just right
I honestly can't think of any bad examples of this.
Everytime I noticed it, it felt really good.

>eyepatches
Why do artists do this?
>tasteless faggot who doesn't actually know shit about adaptive audio yet still has the right to an opinion
There is nothing to be gained from not including adaptive audio whatsoever and leaving it out would only create such an intensely dull fucking soundscape that the player would lose interest at an exponentially faster rate than normal you fucking idiot
The profit-seekers would lose money, and the enthusiasts would end up with a shittier product. Nobody benefits.
>>338344525
>the BJD I made of her
Where are the pics, anon?
>>338345645
The only part of Nier's soundtrack that's "dynamic" is Devola's singing at the fountain. You can hardly call it a dynamic soundtrack.
>when the crescendo for the second half of Crystal Sage hits
boy you know I got pumped
>>338352225
I don't know if EVERY game needs adaptive audio.
The Mario games don't feel like they really need it, the closest I could see is "The song gets rowdier when the boss is in his angry mode."
>>338352774
>The Mario games don't feel like they really need it
Look at this faggot who never played Super Mario World

Fuck, you got me there.
>not liking dynamic music
what are you fucking gay?
>>338352774
Those changes aren't always a really obvious instrument change or added vocal track, mate.
Anything the composer/audio guys can do to keep the player from becoming weary of their sounds, they will do. It's a huge part of why some games will make you grow super tired of a song if you have to retry a part several times while others won't. These guys get paid to do X work, but they get HIRED because they go the extra mile and make something good.

I hate how Nintendo is obsessed with this shit now. Though I liked when Wario did it.
