Does anyone have any recommendations for some good local co-op games? I have Castle Crashers and Battleblock Theater already, and my girlfriend and I just beat Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime. I'd like to get some more co-op games for us to play, but they seem so rare these days.
She also doesn't really care for shooters, so anything like Gears of War or Halo is out.

You have to go back a few generations if you want some good ones. Not even kidding you.

Smash Bros if you own a WiiU

My partner and I play Don't Starve a fair bit
Stick to console and old games.

Play Risk of Rain, The Tomb Raider game, osiris something,

Portal 2? It's not really a shooter.

Yeah, she really liked the first one, but I just beat the co-op with a friend last year so I'll remember all the puzzles and ruin it if I don't wait for a bit.

I really don't get why local co-op died. Does anyone not have fun playing on a couch with friends?
Towerfall Ascension has a fairly challenging set of co-op levels, but its more a versus couch game

Reduced screen space replaced by online capabilities.
14-16 players online vs 2 next to each other

Divinity Original Sin has great couch Co op and is fairly straightforward even if you're not RPG inclined.

I guess, it just doesn't seem that hard to include in most games. Like the new DOOM, why is co-op online only for snapmap? Co-op campaign would be a blast. It's just frustrating.

All other dooms had it.
I remember playing COop Doom 3 online on Xbox
