Not after the praise the campaign has gotten. They listened and changed things during development, they'd be shooting themselves in the foot if they focused on the mediocre multiplayer. They set themselves up for this with the lore, the ending, and the fact that there's 4 templars.

You're forgetting the fact that the singleplayer and the multiplayer were done by different studios, id Software will probably be moving on with other projects by then, with only Certain Affinity taking care of post release content, and I doubt they would make something decent for singleplayer, and there's the fact they are already selling the Season Pass with the promise to release multiplayer content only.
If we're lucky they might get id to make a standalone game, just like the Wolfenstein devs did.

The Doom movie has barely anything to do with the games aside the references. I think it's explained in Doom II that Doomguy stays in hell to kill more demons. In the new game lore it's explained that somehow the demons managed to seal Doomguy in the coffin to stop him from killing them.

And then our department got layed off cause of budget cuts. sold pc and consoles to have money, and now im where im at right now.
