No they do not. Your eyes just get worse over time naturally. Glasses don't speed this up. If glasses had any effect on your eyes we'd have lenses that gradually corrected your natrual eye sight

I'm mildly short sighted. Can see things up close really well. Can read all these posts on a little 8" Tablet crystal clear no problems at all. I couldn't read a number plate past 10 metres though.
My eyes started hurting slightly when I look at a direction as much as I can without moving my head.
Does anybody else have one eye letting the side down? My right eye is pretty good, everything is nice and clear up close and at a distance. My left however is utter shit, so when I have both open that little fucker impacts my overall vision.

My left eye is fine but I can't read text on a screen from about a meter away with my right eye.
Doesn't affect my overall vision though, my left eye just seems to do all the work.

1. Both my parents need glasses.
2. My vision problems didn't start until, in 4th grade, the teacher forced my class to learn how to read the ridiculously tiny-print copyright information on our textbooks for some reason. 14 years later, I don't remember a goddamned thing about copyright.
-7.5 and -11.5 in contacts here with a blind spot blocking outmore than half of my good eye.
Going blind hasn't slowed me down one bit. Still feels as good as ever to be accused of aimhacks when playing online.

It's great if you can get it, though the surgeons who preform it tend to turn you away if you have other problems with your eyes (Like blind spots). They try to just operate on just near/far-sighted people. Other than that just wait until your vision stops getting worse to have the surgery. It's worth every bit. The clarity at all points in life way more important that a partial loss in your natural nightvision's effectiveness

Forgot to mention I got a scleral buckle on my bad eye too from a retinal detachment. The surgery getting it was fun consideringyou have to be awake the whole time your eye is being operated on and even though I was numb I could still feel and see the tools grinding and puncturing my skin and eye. You ever got stiches on your eye? It's a wonderful experience.The surgery lasted about 5 hours if I recall, keep that in mind.
