This, I switched from 360 to PC when I realized how shitty the PS4 and Xbone were. Now I'm a full-on ENB/SweetFX whore but I'm having a lot more fun.
I think playing games with a controller is shit.
I enjoyed it during the NES and SNES era because the games were almost all sidescrollers with tight jumps where a directional pad made sense and you couldn't really have done it better any other way.
Then comes along a stick because buttons didn't work for 3D. A fucking stick. I don't want to play shooting games with that, I don't want to play ANY games with that shit. I want to proper control instead of games having to use auto-aim and snap-to-enemy bullshit just so you can actually do stuff. And it hasn't changed since then. It's such a spastic way to play video games, like purposely handicapping yourself. I see videos of people playing shooters with controllers and watching them having to slowly move their gun up and down, then to the side to shoot an enemy, it's so god damn painful to see.
Controllers are just awful for anything but side-scrollers, same as it ever was, and even if you can hook up a proper mouse and keyboard to a console what is the point? They're likely not going to work for most games anyway and you'll still be playing on a ramshackle toaster imitation of a mid-range PC, but with paid online in addition to your existing internet connection. Who the fuck wants any of that? Is the allure of a couple of games that are arguably shit so strong simply because they are titled "exclusives"? Fuck that, plain and simple.

That's not true though, both Nvidia and AMD often sponsor games and add experimental or high performance graphical effects, it's why you see a huge logo at the startup screen. The quality varies of course but both companies definitely contribute. Also consoles use AMD as well (used to use Nvidia too) so your point is moot.
