When i stopped playing
I thought MGS4 was a great game, especially for a game to finish an entire arc after 20-25 years. But I thought it was overrated too. Only two boss fights stood out for me; Screaming Mantis (that fight is maze to figure out) and the Metal Gear vs Metal Gear boss fight, the final boss fight was shitty out of pure fan service. 60% of the game was pure fan service. It might be an overall 10/10 because the prsentation is so good but comparing to MGS, MGS2 and MGS3, it's not. But that's just my opinion so who cares

Not that other anon but I legitimately find it hard to say which game is my favourite. MGS1 is a bit dated now but has that sweet nostalgia, I used to hate MGS2 but now I love the shit out of it, MGS3 was my favourite for the longest time but the limitations of ps2 technology held it back, MGS4 is a brilliant send off to the series and MGSV is probably the one I played the most, clocking in about 300 hours.
PW is the only one I could definitively place below the others purely for the fact you can't stick up against walls or crawl on the ground. I really do think that they're all amazing games, lots of people shit on V for various reasons but the story was entertaining and the gameplay smooth as fuck. I wish with everything I am that the game could've been completed before shipping out. The fact that there was content made but cut from the game is unacceptable, why Konami couldn't have given them a little more time/resources is still a mystery. It ultimately reflected badly on the company

Vamp fight was fun too, I was genuinely stumped. I depleted his health bar 4 or 5 times before I called up Otacon for help. Laughing Octopus was good but ruined by thermal goggles.
Also the strange design choice of having two on-the-rails shooting sections is baffling. Removing the zombie attack in act 2 would've made the bike chase in act 3 more memorable imo

I don't know it it's my absolute favorite but the final conversation/fight with Letho in TW2. It's hard to put it into words, it just felt very tense.
