Kickstarter and early access was a mistake, it takes all the risk out of the equation of creating a game. What's the incentive to make a good game when you can get all your expenses paid before it's even done anyway? Without them devs need to make sure their stuff is good to get the return of their investment, with those things they don't need to invest anything at all, because people are already funding the product they'll sell.

I don't know what to feel about kickstarter.
I wanted to support La Mulana 2 but ended up not doing it and now I can't find anything about it. I remember around 2013 the kickstarter page said it would be released by the end of 2015 but it hasn't released yet.

The size of the game guarantees at least 2 years development time. You can check their kickstarter page and see that they've had at least 2-3 updates on the game each month. The latest update was 2 days ago in fact.
Unlike many other KS projects, this one is handled by a team that actually has experience and have shown they can create and finish a game.
