But stats are a funny thing. There has to exist "shit" stats to make other stats more appealing. Parry is just kind of unique because it's exclusively a tank stat and it's also garbage.
I don't like set bonuses, personally. It just makes "tier" loot the most desirable loot you can find because of set bonuses. It's shit in WoW and it would be shit in XIV. I'm aware it already exists with the Grand Company armor sets. I'm just glad they haven't done anything more with it.

Yeah I'm slowly making money to upgrade my gear. I had to spend quite a bit of money to first get to 600gp with food buffs so I even have a chance of getting started on blue scrips, but it's easy to make quite a bit from just hidden nodes.
I haven't checked the ephemeral nodes yet. I found one and mined it before checking the market board, then I found out the material was literally going for sub-10gil.

You don't collect that shit as is. You gather them as collectables and use aetherial reduction to get tons of crystals, clusters and aethersand. Dawnborne Aethersand sells for 30-45k on my server and if I get lucky, I can get 6 of them from a single node witha 600 GP rotation

It doesn't even have to be set bonuses, it can just as easily be simply having procs or other special effects on gear that isn't just a flat stat. Even if it's just a "oh, I'll do more damage" thing occasionally, something like Ifrit weapons occasionally throwing a fireball at my target would make things a lot better.
The change they made to Skill/Spell Speed was a good start, though, even if it still didn't make that stat super good outside of breakpoints.

Well, at the time of this boosted Sizzlebeam the whole raid has just taken ~24k damage, and then one raid member is hit with a ~14k beam + ~6k/sec dot. Our SCH will usually adlo at least once to help mitigate the DoT, since the whole raid is looking at another ~8k damage shortly thereafter. So, that's 1-3 adlos in this 15 second window, doesn't sound particularly spammy to me.

I don't want the level cap to increase, but I'm almost certain it will. It's just something that people seem to expect from MMO expansions now. But there's really nothing they could add that would actually make a higher level cap make sense. All it does is make the grind to endgame that much more painful, and make all non-cap content obsolete.

The MMO genre is on life support. There are only a few games (XIV being one of them) that can survive off of a subscription model. Pouring that amount of money into the game will not improve returns. Most of the money the developers have been getting have almost exclusively been going toward marketing, because the subscription model heavily relies on a constant influx of new players, which means the game has to be popular.
Just be glad you're getting the amount of content updates we have been getting. Asking for more while they're in the process of developing a whole new expansion is a bit ridiculous with their budget constraints.

Sheer boredom made me level BTN and MIN to 60 months ago and scrips conpletely tured me oFF frim actualky keeping up woth gear. If you're actually going to main both SCH and SMN put your points into INT, because DPS is a pure numbers game while healing is mostly about reaction and anticipating damage, so MND is not that important, and unless you find yourself in a situation where an extra 50-100 hp healed will have saved someone from dying, which is hardly ever, then don't worry about it.
