It's pretty lofty to think that we're gonna be keeping ALL these characters by the time the next Smash (if it ever happens) rolls around. Nintendo is just going to keep making new games, making new characters, new characters that can be marketed/shoved into Smash, and sooner or later we're going to have to start cutting some strings. Eventually, we'll reach a point where just snipping out the clones won't be enough.
Actually, that's another thing though, where the fuck does this roster even go from Smash 4? Like hell we're going to be keeping all these third parties, 10 bucks says we lose them all except Sonic and MAYBE Pac-Man.

At this point I would actually like to see a Smash "reboot". Start over with a smaller but vastly reworked roster. Old characters get new movesets, physics get rebuilt, etc.
I know it's something that will never happen, because the characters are the only thing people care about anymore, but it would really help keep things from getting stale and bloated.

Each Ice Climber is a fully functioning character that's affected by gravity, statuses, has its own damage percentage, is controlled by a bot when separated, etc.
Luma is basically a floating weapon. It just needs to float near Rosalina and shares the same inputs for attacks.
