>Kojima using a 3rd party engine for next game
thoughts?
I think people need to stop making threads about this talentless hack
Completed logical. After spending so long on his new engine, and it now being under lock and key at Konami without him, I can't believe he'd want to spend another few years building yet another engine

I hope he learned of his mistakes and won't spend all the money in women.
>GUYS KOJIMA JUST FARTED AND PICKED HIS NOSE. LET'S HAVE A THREAD ABOUT IT
How about you fuck off already?
>>338225067
But this is actual vidya news you cocksucker.

>i dont like thing
>better complain about it!

>tfw Kojima's new game is made in Unity 6.
>>338225283
if it keeps popping up, yes?
>>338224149
>conducting a world tour to find a suitable game engine
I guess if I had the clout I'd gouge Sony too and make them pay for an extended vacation.
Retarded Question
Couldn't he just get the programmers of original Kojima Productions to jump ship to new Kojima Productions? They could build a Fox Engine knock off.
>>338226998
And get sued by jewnami
>>338224149
I'll care when we see gameplay. I can't trust Kojima with big budget game design after how The Phantom Pain turned out.
>>338226998
Just because a team has done something before doesn't make it any less challenging to do it again, especially without access to the old engine to look back on.
And it's pretty naive to think the entire team would jump ship for Kojima.
>>338227090
I say knock off for a reason.
Like, literally the same functionality in code, change variable names.
>>338226998
That would be retarded because the fox engine is patented by Konami. If they even attempt to rebuild it or make something similar to it Konami will use MGSV money to sue their asses.
So?
You know how many games run on, for instance, the Unreal Engine series? Engine doesn't really make a game.
>>338226998
5 years of work can't be contracted into 2. Kojima doesn't have as much money as before.
>>338226998
Doesn't quite work like that. Engines usually have specific lead architects too.
For instance, Hedgehog Engine and Luminous Studio are both lead by the same man, Yoshihisa Hashimoto.
>>338227165
Nope they own the code
>>338227130
Phantom Pain was an objectively good game anon. It was just light on story.
Probably UE4 then. Cheap, easy and fast.
>>338227516
It's not that I don't like The Phantom Pain, (I genuinely enjoy it) but it was very clearly not the game we were supposed to get, and the rushed final product is the fault of Kojima's poor budget management.
Presumably, I'd like to be wrong.
>>338227516
Actually it wasn't. It failed on the gameplay front and the cinematic front. I bet you're one of those "it was insanely fun!" type of guys.
>>338227216
You can't patent a game engine.
The only concern would be if they literally copy and pasted code from the Fox Engine then Konami could sue for copyright infringement. I doubt they would be stupid enough to do that and even if they did Konami would actually have to find out, someone would have to show them the source code.
