It's fairly good. They split up the world into stages with a clear stage select, disguised as a boat sailing to different islands. Everything runs much faster, thanks to having weapons rather than dancing for different powers. Each "stage" is a nice big region area with a puzzle to be completed, then the labyrinth similar to older Shantae games after that. Characters are done a lot better, and it's a bit more story-focused, involving characters that way.
