Double XP this weekend. I might load it up and play. These next few monthly patches better fix a lot of shit and add some features/fixes or I'll probably drop it. BB has a lot of potential, but it truthfully should have a 3rd person option and is in need of some serious balancing. Luckily the balancing is somewhat contained, a few OP things, not like everything is fucked.
I'm getting both games for different reasons, but they both need work. OW mostly in the balance department and content, it seemed solid otherwise.

I'm really worried about matchmaking, they seriously should not show account level, it's hurting the community so bad atm if they are really doing it off of an ELO system.
They also need to limit how many people can queue as a premade to 2 or release a ranked that only allows 2 max premade. Heroes of the Storm was well done in this instance. 3+ man premade went to quick match or Ranked 5, and Ranked is Duo max. This fighting a 5man premade shit gets old, BB rewards communication and teamplay synergy so hard it's unbearable if you are with the pub team.

Don't get me wrong I'm not looking down on anyone but the appeal of these Hero Shooter's is that you can just start playing it and feel good because there's very little pressure. Whereas your skills are constantly being judged in a game like Counter Strike in Overwatch you can just fuck around to your heart's content and no one minds.

Evolve is getting it's biggest rework patch this summer and it's highly likely going to be moved into F2P model. Hate on 2K/Turtle rock as you like, they've kept on supporting the game. Battleborn feels like an Evolve that wasn't as fucked up. I like both games really and it seems like 2K is allowing their dev teams to focus on fixing them.

I love the game to death, but only because I can really enjoy what is there, it has a hook that really grabs people, but you have to be able to weather all the bullshit it's gone through or literally have just picked it up for 5 bucks. Evolve simply needed more time, perfect example of a rushed product driven by greed. 2K fucked up bad, that's why they took a step back on Battleborn.
Evolve is actually a really good game for what it set out to be. It released in a major PC drought and got completely overhyped. It never stood a chance. I still own a few t-shirts and log on from time to time. They are also changing a lot about the game mechanically and reworking lighting to brighten all the maps this summer. If it goes F2P or not I'll probably go back to it. I just kind of wish they let Evolve have the leg room Battleborn does, which is why I'm kind of letting Battleborn do their thing before I drop it completely. 2K is really allowing Gearbox to breathe a lot more than they let Turtlerock.
