Never had a Playstation growing up. Grew up on Nintendo consoles. Recently bought a PS2 slim at a garage sale and have been pirating games to play through the childhood I never had.
Holy living fuck, I am in love with Castlevania Symphony of the Night. It's rad as fuck. Everything about the game is so well polished. Being able to do the reverse dodge scoot thing over and over for speed mames the game so much faster. There are a ton of movement options and you get more as the game goes on. And the music is so fucking GOOD. The game is fast, the music is good, and the game is challenging as fuck for someone going through a blind playthrough.
I was never really into the Metroidvania genre, but I sure as hell am into it now.
Sidenote, I fucking loved Crash. Gonna play through Crash 2 next after SotN.
