It's funny how these games are loved by everyone in USA/EU but hated in Ukraine and Russia except kids who love to spend hours trying to mod some shit like unbreakable light bulbs. It was a dream here in Ukraine and Russia. We waited for release since 2002 but game release reschedules kept and kept happening. On April Fools' Days major news sites reported news that stalker finally came out with screenshots like picrelated, or been cancelled. And than game finally came out with shitty A.I., no open world, tons of bugs and half of what was promised was cut out.

That anon's partially right. The amount of hype around the game was enormous in Russia, so naturally it failed to completely live up to the expectations. At some point we were promised giant, living open world, cars and shit. It turned out to be a good game nonetheless so naturally people eventually warmed up to it again. The problem is nonexistent in the West because it was never hyped up to begin with.
Because humans shouldn't be able to absorb 3 bullets to the chest and keep fighting, yes even with a kevlar, the early to mid game is just atrocious, sponginess + rng aiming with any thing but a sniper (which still needs to be pretty close) is quite boring.

Because I got tired of SoC's bullshit like crashings, enemies reapearing, A.I. that goes from good to totally unexistent. How enemies can't hit you if you move even less than 5feets in front of them, so you can simply run towards an obejtive, grab it/complete it and run backwards while 9 dudes are shooting around you missing everything. Well, that or having to deal with the HUGE spread and shit damage of your weapons, especially if you play it in the max difficulty, you deal less damage like that (that's against what you'll read in this board anyway, but most people here fucking sucks at games so be aware because you deal less damage per shot the higher the difficulty level goes, and no, you can still kill with headshot in the lower difficulties, that's something that has been repeated for years by people who wants to pretend they know about a game without actually checking if their shit is right or not; don't fall for it, the enemies turn into bullet sponges and nothing else changes besides that). The game gets tedious quickly, especially if you have to go back to a specific place.
Call of Prypiat is waaay better in that regards, you die quickly, the same as your enemies. The only problem I found with that game, and the reason why I stoped playing it, is that I did not found anything interesting to do in Prypiat, all the other levels were more fun to me and it turned bland on the last zone. SoC with better gameplay would fucking great.

The world in Stalker exists without you. You can spend hours in the game doing nothing and shit still changes in it, it's even possible for quests you could've gotten to get completed by random NPCs. It's also immersive as fuck and unforgiveable when it comes to being shit (You can save whenever you want though)

That depends of what made think that it was not worth to buy it. Even if I mention what I liked about the game it might not be what you could like about it. The atmosphere for the first was what keep me playing it, but the gameplay made me drop it becuase of the way the weapons works in SoC. I liked the gunplay in Call of Prypiat waaaay more than SoC, and I also liked the atmosphere in that game but in a different way than in SoC. You have a bunch of weapons with some variation of ammunition, and also ballistic. It's not hard at all to get money to buy what you want in both of the games, so that should no be a problem. If you like to roam around and explore (if so, that's more important in CoP) and also calculate the position and movement of enemies to shoot your bullets with travel time and drop, then you could like these games. Unless somebody really wants to try the first and keeps going for the atmosphere, especially if they don't mind the gunplay, I would recomment to go straight to CoP and see if they like it. SoC crashes more (a lot more), CoP has zones that makes sense in terms of the anomalies you can find in the game instead of just seeing them appear randomly on the map. You can farm money faster on CoP if you want to jump quickly on a especific way to play (guns, equipement in general, really), also less loading times, and overall less bullshit like being able to run past guys that coulds clearly see you or shoot if the A.I. and guns weren't so shitty.
