What's up with this trend of the newest entry in a franchise just being given the title of the franchise with no numbers or subtitles? It just indicates pure laziness and makes it confusing cause people will normally have add the year it was released anyway when referring to it in the future.
Is there no end to this? How far will it go? Will the next Final Fantasy game just be "Final Fantasy"? What other franchises will fall to this trend?
They don't want to alienate the newer and younger audiences that they're designing the new games for.
