Are you implying Undertale had worse gameplay than Lisa and OFF? Undertale's gameplay was much more engaging than Lisa's and was far and away better than OFF's. Sure, Lisa's had the most depth to it with all the partners you could gain with all their different abilities, but Undertale's shmup-styled dodging mechanic was much more engaging and more creative from a design perspective, especially when it mixes the controls up during bosses and the orange and blue attacks.
Also, Undertale's attention to detail is very very deep, it's nearly impossible to find everything that Undertale has to offer, not to mention all the extra things that occur with the Fun value like the Gaster followers and the phone calls. After all, it DOES remember a lot of things you do if you try and go back on a save

I was never a fan of the text heavy Earthbound battle system, when other RPGs did shit in a more intuitive way, more specifically Square's SNES RPGs. After a while playing it I kinda got tired of it.
