I do it when I'd have to use too much mana or if the fight is too dangerous

Didn't know about repels in Pokemon when I was a kid so I ran almost all of the time.
Only if I'm under-leveled for the area so I don't die instantly, and over-leveled so I don't waste my time with weaker enemies.

If there were multiple enemies and you killed some of them but then ran away you still might get gold/items. All of which depends on the JRPG of course
Usually when I revisit older areas and the battles aren't worth the time
I always like to stay under leveled in rpgs, so I use it constantly until I can buy smoke bombs or its equivalent.

Sometimes if I'm fucked for some reason (party members died or really low HP and not confident I can salvage it, enemy is too strong) 90% of the time it just backfires and I fail to run away and get flattened though and I shut off the game in a rage.
Also when I was a kid I always ran from optional battles simply due to being too impatient to deal with that shit and would power through the boss battles through sheer persistence or else run into a wall at some point and give up.

No because when i was younger I thought that the monsters would be smug as shit if the hero ran away. So 9/10 times I would fight. That still translates today when I should run but I stay and fight and see what happens. Only games with fights that rely on the use of escape will see me run.

Subs always like to think they control shit from the bottom. They always think in the back of their mind, that they're secretly in control. That's why the best of these types of stories completely crushes that notion. Give a sub even an inkling that they can sway you, and they get the whole situation twisted in their head. You can't give them anything.
Sure, I fucking hate random encounters. I'll escape from all of them when I'm exploring and area and then grind afterwards.
Probably the reason I tend to drop JRPGs 1/3 through.

One guy I talked to was giving me the details for what makes a good cuck story. And , I'll save the details, but everything he said pretty much amounted to the sub feeling like they still had control of the relationship. Even if it's from the submissive position.
And then another sub I talked to, broke down the first two Nagatoro doujins specifically. He typed some heavy posts, so I'll save the details there too. But it amounted to pretty much the same thing. It's some really twisted logic. I kind of get what he's saying in a way. I suppose it could be read that way.
The thing about subs though... They're almost always weaselly little shitbags. And the way I see it, no one should cater to them. They're going to read the doujin and fap to it anyway, because they're little cuck faggots. So it's best to use every page to completely shit on them. Instead of trying to cater to their twisted understanding of who holds power in relationships.

It does have to do with power disparity for me. But it's strange the way I think about it. Likely unconventional, but basically, for me there's nothing I like better than seeing a girl really enjoy herself. And the idea that her partner is really making her enjoy herself is a big element to that.
So, the idea is building a disparity between the cuck and the bull. Because the better the bull appears in comparison to the cuck, the more I imagine he's pleasing the woman.
