its terrible. They marketed the game as it being chief vs locke but it just ended up being "switch between two fireteams and shoot stuff. alsocortana is crazy now

5 by itself is a great game from a technical standpoint, but I will be fucked sideways if it couldn't have been phenomenal.
I mean, they had the perfect set-up, bounty-hunting Master Chief. That shit right there alone would sell. But then they go and make the bounty-hunting not really bounty-hunting and remove splitscreen play.
Even as a fanboy of the series, that was a pretty fucked up move on their part and I wonder if anyone got fired over that, or maybe I wish someone had.

MCC is phenominal if you have friends to play with.
I regularly play in 16 player custom lobbies and jump between halo 2 and 3 maps. It's like reliving my teenage years. Good shit.
5 is a mixed bag.
They mailed the multiplayer and the free updates ate great. We now have more free content than any other halo by far.
At the same time, the campaign is pretty lackluster. My personal least favorite in the series.

MCC alone makes me get more time out of my bone than my PS4, but that's largely because I have a good group of friends to play with.
Gears 4 also looks promissing.

MCC and Halo 5 is a lot of content and to me, was worth. However, if you haven't played Halo 5, then dont expect anything from the campaign. It's not awful like some people say, but it's so boring and dull that it in now way incites a second playthrough because it's just that mediocre. The mp is great though and the weapon sandbox is the most balanced yet in the series. It's much more fun with friends thoughand i dont have any

Halo 5 is good in terms of content, but the way the game feels is trash
All the maps are awful, tight, clusterfuck maps that are built more upwards than outwards
All the weapons have ADS and have ridiculous range(The pistol is the go to weapon in 9/10 situations)
The movement, theoretically, is good but when your stuck with a whopping fov of two degrees and are handicapped with a controller, it just makes trying to play frustrating
They also rendered the radar useless by reducing the range to within the confines of your asshole. Have fun being shot off radar and outside your field of view
Get the MCC and hope your playing at an active time because the old halo games feel so much better after trying to deal with 5

I have an Xbox One and I like it but you need to pick other games to justify the purchase. Halo 5 is worth owning if you've already got the system but it is definitely not a system seller. The MCC is much better in my opinion but I wouldn't buy an Xbone just for that either.

He's completely right. All good players (like 1% of Halo 5 pop) use the pistol. I has the fastest ttk for a precision weapon with great range too and you literally spawn with one

Honestly I was never interested in the matchmaking in the first place.
For me Halo has always been about custom games with people I know and can talk to, so nothing of value was lost for me.
But I do feel bad for people that bought it for matchmaking.

But the most annoying achievement which isn't technically "hard" but it's so annoying ghats it ends up being a bigger ordeal than the hardest one is the achievement where you have to beat every episode of Spartan Ops by yourself on legendary.
Halo CE and 3 LASO are exploitable due to the skulls that are on.
Halo 2 and 4 laso are tough.
