Is Estelle a slut
>>338110304
no
Everything is deliberately created in a game, no asset can be made without a 3D model and a texture made around the art style of that game. The sound design is all created for the atmosphere of that game. The writing is all created for that game.
When you have all of these components, an art unto themselves, its impossible to classify a well made game any other way. I don't know how you could look at these parts as a whole and think anything else.
I don't know, but if your mom was a canvas, I painted the roof of the Sistene Chapel in her womb, the Birth of Venus on her thighs, the Mona Lisa on her face, and sculpted Young Woman With Jar #3 out of her ass.
Video games let you witness a whole new world that transcends anything that art can make you experience, so because of this, no, video games are not art, but it is better than art.

shame. maybe her games would sell better if she was.
>>338109864
Nope sorry Estelle.
Its comical how desperate gamers are for validation of their hobby. Whether it be the art distinction or the ESPORTS ARE REAL SPORTS craze.

poor sod
>>338116668
>>338116949
By that sentence you're implying toys can't be art.
Which is untrue.
>>338109864
Man I hate the art style for the OVA.
>music is art
>games have music
They're art.
No but seriously who gives a shit? Anything can be defined as "art", I can smear my shit on a wall and call it art if I wanted.
>>338109864
Video games are a culmination of various forms of art to create one entertaining experience.
I've always said they're both art AND entertainment, but that doesn't satisfy /v/, so don't bother.
>>338117824
Actually I agree with this, when thinking about videogames are technically the ultimate art form. They are the combination of various art forms (music, visual art, film(cutscenes/gameplay), and writing in more recent cases) all coming together into one product. The reason they're not respected is because no one really does anything truly great with the medium.

>Music has words
>Music is also literature
The art of game isn't the music, actors or anything like that, it's the actual game part of designing a series of mechanics.
>>338118353
Yeah, well, movies aren't too grand anymore either, but people still praise and respect those.
That's like saying Sport is an art.It is.
>>338118773
I was poking fun at my bottom point, art is such a subjective term anyone can create some bullshit loophole why something is or isn't "art".
>>338119048
Art isn't a subjective term though, it's anything with creative force behind it, it's not subjective that is the objective truthful definition of anything art.
The world around art in which it is created in also have a say in the quality or substance of the piece, for instance, the pictures you drew as a child for your parents are just as much considered art as the Mona Lisa.
Your parents value your piece that you created and they hung it on a wall, it's art in it's purest simplest form.
