The more involved you get with a hobby typically the more discerning you will be and the more picky you will be.
I don't watch many movies so I can watch crap movies and enjoy them. My friends who work in film have a much harder time sitting through crap movies.
They can play shallow garbage like Skyrim and not really see how shallow it is, whereas I get bored about a couple hours.
That's my perspective on it anyway. For example, if you've played one game with batman combat you've played them all. Someone playing their first game with press punch to win combat might find it neat, but people who play more games will likely find it shallow and boring.
