I will concede to you that the rocks could tumble more, and that the developers were perhaps too cautious when they were deciding what weight value the rocks perched up on that hill would have. I can only imagine as well that creating so many little objects and then having to give them all physics bounding boxes that will interact in a way that makes sense to the eye is not easy (especially when it comes to allocating system resources)
But I can't agree that it was SO poorly implemented as to not be worthwhile. The layered in effects of smaller rocks/sand in motion down the hill which is triggered by the motion of rocks (which you can see pretty clearly in >>338103097 video) really works to sell the whole thing.

Is this a plot point or is this just technology? Because it's actually pretty impressive. I'm only halfway done with the game. It's okay, but really graphics are the only thing the game excels in. Most of the gameplay revolves around pressing triangle, the jumps are the magnetic kind where you have to try to miss the jump to fail it, story is pretty cliched, and the shooting is generic as fuck. Multiplayer is more enjoyable, honestly, which shouldn't happen since these games pride themselves on being "cinematic experiences".
