I'm not sure if SOTN optional boss counts, there are several ways to wreck him without using alucard shield + shield rod combo. You can use the ledge at the top right corner of the arena to hit him in the head for more damage, you can use that bat smash thing that made Belzebu a joke... The area layout even gives you an item to absorb lightning damage right before the battle
