Going to buy this game. Heard it's the best MMO. What do you think?

"Best" is, as usual, subjective. Basically, you're never going to be powerful enough to hang with the top boys, because this game has no means of anyone catching up to timesinks. Which also is a double whammy because you're gonna feel like you are obligated to play because you don't want to sag behind your peers. Go for it only if you're okay with that.

I think it's about the only mainstream MMO that still pretty much requires you to be sociable in order to do anything fun.
Play the trial a couple times first, and try to avoid being risk adverse or doing any PVE. Join a player corp too plenty will accept 1 day old characters nowadays, EVE is only as boring as you and your company are.
Eve is an amazing game, there's nothing else like it. But the things EvE let's you do are not enough to make up for awfully boring gameplay. I'm not ignorant of the intricacies of PvP, I've done a fair share of wormhole scouting, but it wasn't EvE that made the experience fun, it was the people I was playing with.
Any song that's good when you're high should be good when you're sober, likewise a game should be fun without people, and enhanced by the social aspect of gameplay. I do recommend you play EvE, you might really enjoy it as I have for the past 6 odd years. But beware you're not about to 'play' a game as much as control an autopilot

Its not only the best MMO but its the absolute only MMO that got the sanbox and the economy mostly right(nothing is perfect).
Its incredibly sloooooow though, and like all MMOs a massive time waste. As someone who played this game a lot in the past, and is mad about space games, honestly, in the end, its not really worth it.

If you want a game with content handed to you by the devs then you're better off sticking with WoW or FF14
