They ripped lots of voice work out and downsampled/looped/cut a lot of the music. Same with Skies of Arcadia.

Get some of those multigame discs if you're limited
For example, you can get Power Stone 1 + 2 on a single disc. Only get that if you have a friend to play with though.
There's another good one containing HSF2, SF3:3S, Puzzle Fighter and even Ikaruga.
