Not him but while Metacritic doesn't take bribes per se, they allow basically non-entity "reviewers" contribute to the score.
So, Bethesda could theoretically find some no-name blog and get them to give it whatever score they want, and then metacritic would add that score to it's aggregate because there is literally no vetting process.
I think DOOM is actually a good game, but take a look at the reviews for New Vegas. Very, VERY fucking shady, it was getting great scores and then just around the time Bethesda was going to have to pay them their bonus they started getting 60's and shit from random ass blogs being weighed just as highly as all the rest.
Don't trust the fuckers at all, even if DOOM was good that entire company is fishy as all hell.

meh. I impulse bought it on steam. Played it for little over an hour and didnt really like it.
Thank god for refunds. Was playing it at the highest difficulty and just thought it was kinda boring. Not that it was piss easy or anything, I was dying here and there. But just boring.
Also, I hated the exploration aspect. It had me jumping on walls that I thought might lead somewhere but in reality were just blocked off parts of the map so I like constantly jumping on shit that looked like I could get up on only to hump the wall for a few seconds.
