>Emperor = Easy
>Immortal = Normal
>Deity = Hard
What's with all these other pointless options? The game basically plays itself.

I have friends who get their weenies roasted on Chieftan difficulty.
>>338038578
I play Prince/King when getting the hang of a civ I've not yet played, then bump up one at a tine for my next few games with them

What's the point of playing a turn based civ game that slows down to a crawl lategame when real-time options exist like Paradox Games?

Sorry, I don't like having to wait for my mana to regen.
ch-chieftan here, 1/5 winrate
I cannot into warfare. Not being able to produce units at the same time as buildings makes me extremely averse to having to spend any turns on anything that doesn't explicitely advance my cities. I also always get ambushed by sudden, inexplicable war declarations, so I save all my money for emergency defense spending.
Seriously, every turn is so crucial. How can you bear wasting them on temporary units that will just die (to RNG)? Not to mention the overwhelming, crushing, and retarded unhappiness garnered from captured cities.

I used to have this problem, and this still irks me. I so wish Civ had separate unit/building pipelines like Total War.
>implying AI matters
You can either choose to play against a retard, or an inexplicably superpowered retard. Until they actually design better AI, it doesn't matter. Play multiplayer.
I'm currently losing a chieftain game
>>338039997
if you're losing on chieftain you're seriously getting major game mechanics wrong, somehow
are you managing your cities?
