Only played the first one but have a couple of friends who bought the game and they were also having a blast with it. I say that if you like taking out waves of enemies plus collecting custom parts the game is for you.

For me, the entire point is Gundam fanservice and building the autistic Gundam OCs I used to just draw in Paint.

The main focus of the game is assembling your own gunpla with as many parts to choose from as possible, the combat can get stale quick for some people but that can be fixed if you build multiple units to play as so it doesnt feel the same everytime.

On Extreme and Newtype difficulty yeah, but anything below that not so much.

It works both ways, Shining/Burning finger are guaranteed parts breakers, but it works in yur favor too.

Not as bad as in 1. Bounty Hunt helps a great deal.
Hardcore is the hardest difficulty you can select in the first playthrough and I'd recommend playing on it as you'll get better drops and it's not completely unfair in terms of difficulty.

Got the jap version, it was pretty fun. Not sure if I'm going to play it again on the difficulty that unlocked after I beat the campaign though.
From a gundam fan perspective the upgrading system was great, as you can play through the entire game with the same MS. From a gameplay perspective though, it was frustrating that my upgraded parts were the only really worthwhile parts, and using anything else would reduce the game to an HP-sponge filled boring mashfest. It's easy to just put all of your current abilities in a new piece, but then you lose your old suit. I think I would've preferred it if you unlocked upgrading as it is at the end of the game, and played through the main campaign by mixing and matching cool parts you'd find throughout the levels. It'd also make the loot tables progress more smoothly.

I have only played the first one thats why i mentioned the sudden difficulty spikes(giant beam of death spam out of fucking nowhere) since you couldnt choose the difficulty,it was predetermined by the mission. I just made a general pro/cons from what i have heard and filled the blanks with my experience with the first game.

Also, even with bounty hunter + the grinding is insane in breaker 1.
