There's a workaround for this, you can assign a player input action to change the player's loadout, so on the user interact 1 action you assign loadout one, which is the shotgun and super shotgun, user interact 2 you put the chaingun and HMG and on say the equipment key you put the rocket launcher and plasma gun.

The player can effectively use 6 weapons at once now.

Baron doesn't really have that high HP though. His face and his WHOLE BACK are vulnerable spots and you can easily outgun him, even alone. This is especially true when you're on an elevated position.

Never thought the loadouts were a major problem until i played it recently and man, that shit sucks.

Basically makes it a grindfest. No weapons scattered makes it meh.

Snapmap also has incredible possibilities gimped with the gameplay of the MP. I mean what the fuck man, the campaign and the MP don't even play the same.

You have these cool things in campaign that aren't in snapmap, mainly, you can only use 2 weapons in a custom map at any given time.

Classic mode wherein, maps ammo with normal weapon pickups and power weapon timers are visible to everyone.

Add a horde mode with loadouts.

BRawl Free for all with no loadouts, and each time you spawn with a different weapon. Also have a traditional Free for all mode.

Berserk Mode: This is TDM with boosted Speed, Weapon pickups, Faster Glory Kills, and power weapon spawn timers.


Do this and it will be a very complete game.

Make the air control from the upgraded rune the default double jump.

Return the weapons to the way they functioned in story mode (tighten spread on the shottys, RL doesn't suck, etc.)

Weapon pickups are a thing again, maybe let the player choose to start with one of three of the shittier guns if you really want to keep loadouts.

Fix the godawful netcode.

Make CTF a default mode.

Hack modules require you to do an action in the game to activate them such as getting a triple kill or killing a demon. Only provide out of combat bonuses (like the bounty hunter card does now where if you kill the top enemy you get tons of bonus xp).

Decrease demon spawn damage reduction for everything but the revenant. Also getting a kill as the demon only gives one soul in soul capture instead of two.

Put in load spawn notifications for powerups just like there already are for demon runes.

better knockback on rockets.

I think the demons could also use less damage but more HP across the board so they aren't just a "give little timmy a kill" feature and you can actually fight them off. Kinda pisses me off when the revenant flies up to me,

That's basically Snapmap. Some shitty minigames can be programmed but full fledged DOOMlike maps can't be done properly

Either they start injecting content to it ASAP or it's goign to be ded in months. I believe thisis what's going to happen, they will kill it and wait for the inevitable sequel when the initial earnings are done.

For me in the US EST, after 5 there's like 7 active servers, 3 of them being full. They retain many of the classic halo 3 maps and are played the most, sure there's ugly af halo 4 skins but the game generally speaking has the halo feel to it, and there is controller support. There is also forge, custom games. You should check it out, it's not bad.

Demons need to be nerfed, they are a fucking joke. I can kill a shitton of players with the Baron's Melee attack alone, and Revenants can one-shot anyone who doesn't have full health and armor.

I think asking the devs to force the game to emulate classic doom perfectly with fancy graphics would only result in something worse than what we've gotten. With mod tools other people could make classic modes and custom maps to suit those modes. Without proper mod tools this game will never be what classic doom is today.

I do think they need to allow rocket jumping but the double jump already makes you fucking mobile as shit.

Fix up snap map mode too, feels lacking with only one map flavor, lack of props, 12 demon limit and being restricted to multiplayer 2 weapon limits.

All it would take to balance Chaingun would be having the alt fire (spin-up) actually reduce your mouselook speed, like it does in the the SP. As it is, it just stays the same, and the spin-up is so fast you can easily spin-up on reaction to an any engagement and just use the weapon normally and with the same aiming agility of the main firing mode.

They can't leave it as it is. It has by far the greatest DPS potential in the game and utterly dominates short to medium range engagements. It just so happens that ~95% of engagements in the MP are close to medium range ones. It's also not even too shabby from long range in a pinch

You have to play around some games to see why this is bad. I get why you don't see it at first but as an example:

You're playing a deathmatch arena game, think of it as a gladiator, and all of you start with a basic same weapon. In the arena there's scattered different weapons, no weapon more OP than the other, but certainly they are the tools of preference for you and give edge on certain situations

So the map control becomes key with powerups. It's not about killing the other guy, but map dominating and playing mindgames with the enemy. He doesn't know what you're carrying, what ambush could you do, and quick thinking is essential for this. Same as Team Deathmatch, since one of your team can dominate an area and deny the powerups/weapons, and thus, securing frags.

Now, with loadouts on the other hand, you spawn with a rocket launcher. You shoot rockets to the enemy to the chest. You kill them and you die. You respawn with same rocket launcher and start shooting them again until you die. You earn points to level yourself up and buy some clown wig.

I hate glory kills in multiplayer. I just want to melee someone to finish them off when using the super shotgun, but then I get stuck in the animation while the opposing team murders me.

Played it for a bit on PC, here's my impressions

Mouse acceleration turned on by default. Feels and controls like WET SHIT. You can't turn it off from menus, you have to go to a .txt and turn it off and even that can't say if it works for the MP. That's one BAD THING.

Loadouts: They enforce grinding and using the same weapons over and over. Loadouts are a bad choice. Even fucking HALO has weapons scattered around because IT MAKES THE MAP IMPORTANT.

Steam Download Region: If you don't live on the US or Yurop you're not going to find any matches since it only looks on your Steam Download Region, basically region locking the matchmaker. You can change your SDR, but you need to restart. Enjoy the lag too.
Which takes me to

No dedicated servers: Pretty straightforward. No dedicated servers means no community developing by itself.

And some balance issues atop the LOADOUTS.

So much fuck up It's hard to think about the good things. Also MP looks worse than main campaign, too.

I don't see Bethesda fixing anything, you know how's this done.

I feel like everyone criticizing the MP is trying to compare it to Quake III, UT, etc. Stop. Compare it to its contemporaries - the current slew of MP shooters like Blops 3, BF:H, etc etc. It's the best MP shooter in years.

Remove the current version from the game and release a co-op campaign.

Don't know why people even wanted multiplayer anyways. Doom had multiplayer, but it was never about it. Shit, it really wasn't even until Quake 3 that multiplayer death matches really became a thing; it really has no place in Doom.
