Drivers apart from the Nvidia proprietary drivers are worse and many games aren't properly ported but just use a wrapper which costs performance. Also you may not find some alternatives for third party programs. I wouldn't know of a sweetFX replacement for example. But there are some neat programs for gaming windows doesn't have in return.
