>>338028749
well i dont like grinding and i dont really care what the game is about i just want to have fun while playing it
Not OP but anyways.
I've installed Thief Gold, never played it.
Should I play it on my notebook screen or big TV? I was thinking smaller screen + headphones because of low resolution + muh atmosphere.
I also did not know this game had difficulty settings, should I just play normal?
This shit sounds good anyways.

THIS CAN'T BE FUCKING REAL
Have you played Diablo 1?
Obviously I can't speak for everyone but I find single player at night the best way to play that game.

Dorf Fort. SS13. Have fun!
Dwarf fortress, Daggerfall, Morrowind, You fine with emulators? Lots of old games for those, Even n64 games should be playable on a bad laptop
>>338033321
>Dorf Fort
Needs a NASA computer to run at 200 dorfs. Don't assume that because a game has no 3D graphics that it isn't CPU intensive like a motherfucker.
Also.
>SS13
>Ever running smooth
Makes no difference what rig you have, it'll run like shit because of the engine, Dream Maker.
>>338028257
Some of these games are not old but most should run well on any computer that is passable but can't do 3d graphics (ie most old laptops)
I've had fun with all of the below. Google them, read reviews, decide if you'd like them, then pirate them.
Diablo 2
Warcraft 3
Starcraft
Undertale
FTL
Dungeon Keeper
King of Dragon Pass
Osu!
Red Alert 2
Sid Meier's Pirates

Sengoku Rance (google how to set up and play)

First patch the shit out of it with this easy peasy patch
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=134733
Next, run it on native res
The game is pretty dark, so check out how it looks on both screens and fiddle with the gamma slider a bit
Finally, play it on hard
As far as I know, the difficulty doesn't adjust AI, just some minor enemy placements and lowers your health. The combat is clunky anyway and melee should be avoided at all costs unless you're blackjacking some guard from behind.
But the biggest difference is that it significantly alters objectives. For example, the first mission after the tutorial mission ends immediately after you grab a certain scepter on easy, but on hard you have to grab the scepter, acquire a nice sum of gold and another unique artifact or two and after you're done with all that you have to escape from the mansion back to the city streets.
Hard isn't really hard, it just gives you the full thieving experience. Just don't waste your arrows, don't rush, make sure you know where the fuck you are, listen to funny NPC banter from the shadows and don't be afraid to run away from unfavorable combat. Also preparing a sword swing, crouching and then releasing the swing will save you from things gnawing at your feet. Also also don't really bother saving money between levels.
Have fun

Yeah. Nothing more sad than a spoon-feeding thread getting ruined.

How about you tell us what kind of games you like to begin with. PC has twenty five years worth of fantastic games on backlog. I don't know if I'm supposed to start with Doom, Dwarf Fortress or Pathologic here.
