The writing is arguable, MGS writing is always fucking all over the place, and MGS2 is more surreal, which makes it harder to separate bad writing from purposefully inconsistent.
That whole Hal and his Sister moping bullshit can fuck off though, god damn I can't describe how many fucks I could not give about Hal getting cucked by another woman.
