How far are you going to keep pushing this meme?
>>
I don't think anybody says that. What people say is that a $~700 PC can easily be cheaper than a console over the life of a console generation because no paid online and cheaper games. But most PC gamers probably do spend more money than console gamers because they want a better experience that you can't get on consoles.
>>
>has a catalog of games going back twenty years
>implying that alone is not better than PS4
Top kekkerino
>>
delet this
>>
If you're a poorfag then PC gaming isn't for you. PC gaming is a hobby only the elite can afford, simple as that.
>>
PC doesn't become better than a console graphics wise until around $800 and that's if you handpick the parts themselves and save yourself the rediculous upmarks by doing it yourself

The point is you can spend all the money you can to make it look better than a console, consoles can't do that
>>
>>338020149
>Implying you can't play SNES, Genesis, NES, old GOG and Mega Drive games in your 30 dollars notebook

That alone is better than the PS4 too.

>High-end PC: $1000
>Pirate 24 games in 1 year: $0
>1 year of Steam & other clients: $0
>Total: $1000 in one year

>yfw people still think PC is more expensive than consoels
>>
>>338020461
Don't forget that you rarely have to upgrade and if you have to buy your games because of Denuvo or whaever you can just get some cheap keys that are half the price.

This gen is the best time to switch to PC.
>>
A $300 PC with new parts will struggle to compete for very long. Modern games are primarily designed for consoles and ported to PCs after and seem to be requiring much better hardware for PC as the generation goes forward.

That being said, it's obviously possible to do in the short term and even moreso if you buy used/refurbished (but then you'd have to compare to used/refurb PS4 pricing) but let's all be realistic: PCs are enthusiast gaming devices. To spend $300 on one is idiotic, if you're going to buy one, you buy a decent one.
>>
>decent pc
$800
>decent monitor
$200

$1000 total

>decent console
$350
>decent TV
$5000

$5350 total

PC is always cheaper once you factor in the surrounding costs.
>>
>>338019919
But my $300 pc has the Space Cadet Pinball game on it.
That's already better than a PS4.
>>
>>338020461
>buying games at $70
>being able to pirate every game Denuvo says hi
Come on. I agree PC gaming is obviously superior from a technical standpoint, but this retarded argument needs to end.
>>
>>338020054
This isn't something that should be argued to begin with. Which is cheaper will always be person specific. For example, what if someone wants to play full priced games on day 1? PC is more expensive in that scenario, because you can get a $60 game for $48 on consoles on day 1. What if someone doesn't like multiplayer? They will only buy single player games, so PS+ is a non-factor. Of course, it could be the opposite.

People should play what they want, at whatever price they deem worthwhile.
>>
>>338020461
>24 games a year
Jesus I'm lucky if I find 3 that interest me and they're usually older games anyway.
>>
the point of a pc is that you don't have to settle with $300 garbage hardware.
>>
>>338020584
>decent PC $800
>decent TV $5000

Your idea of "decent" is pretty stupid m8
>>
>>338020680
Okay, fine.
>Buy 24 games half-price on key resell websites in 1 year: 24*35=$840
>Total cost in one year: $1840
That's still less than consoles.
>>
>>338020765
Again, your argument depends on people buying games at full RRP. I never pay full price for anything. with PC I wait for steam sales, with consoles I also wait for sales. I can't give a great comparison since britfag, but usually our games are £40-50 new, I never spend more than £20 on a game, (not used either).
>>
>>338020765
Base price on pc is 50 mate, 50% off would make 25
>>
Poorfag idort here.
I have a GTX 660 and plenty of games capable of being run in my backlog easily 100+ but don't feel like playing any of them. Does anybody else feel this way? I can use my TV as a cloned monitor and sit on the sofa to play, but even so, it somehow always feels like a chore to play on PC, I can't quite put my finger on it. Even times when I don't need to look up fixes or mess around with installed drivers etc..

I have a curved Samsung TV for 860 shekels and it has 55 inch and 3D.

I don't get you my, man, which TV costs 5000$, a golden one?

And PCs have far more problems you have to google about, if it doesnt run in your setup etc... To much of a hassle for me.
>>
>>338021025

You get them from the same place Sonyggers think you get $5000 PC's needed to beat PS4.
>>
>>338021104
But thats objectively not true, and would you stop using the term sonygger, it makes you seem immature about this topic and care more about the flaming than the actual disscussion.

It's like you WANT platform wars.

>>
>>338020992
I don't necessarily find it to be a chore, but I do get too easily distracted by TV, movies, and 4chan while on PC. I don't get to pirate TV and movies on consoles, and last time I browsed the internet on PS3 I found it too much of a hassle. Therefor I can't get distracted on consoles, and get more playing done.

Anyone in this thread that claims they aren't addicted to 4chan, thus get to actually play games, is full of shit.
>>
>>338020234
Try 300$
>>
I want everyone here who thinks $300 PC's are a valid comparison to think about whether they own a PC for any reason other than gaming, and recall what they paid for it.

Then I want them to add $300 dollars to that, and consider that the budget they would have had.

Almost everybody needs a PC, and will have one either way, even if it's a shitty $200 laptop. Therefore, in this case a $500 PC would have cost you the same as a $300 PS4 in terms of how much you had to pay to get a game machine, because the $200 would have gone to that shitty laptop either way. And you get a better PC for everything else you do to boot.

>>338020584
Most people are going to have a TV for other purposes anyways, plus there are cheap TV's that work just fine, mine was about $400 and it looks fine. Your argument isn't wrong, but it's only applicable to those that don't already own a TV.
>>
>I can only pick between 300$ PC or PS4 because mommy won't buy me both

When will this meme stop?
>>
>>338021340

Then use the TV for your PC.
>>
>>338021403
A sensible adult will consider the utility of both in relation to the price needed, and consider whether one or both is worth purchasing based on that.

For a lot of people more than one game system is unnecessary since they don't have that much time to play.
>>
My $300 PC IS better than PS4. PC actually has good exclusives on it.
>>
>>338021487
Yet they seems to have time to shitpost on /v/ all days.
>>
>>338021320
that will run games at 800x600 at around 20FPS if you're lucky, at least if we're talking about newer games
>>
>>338021465
Sure, I have a friend that does that. As long as the TV doesn't have too much input lag it works. That wasn't my point though.

A $300 PC is a million times better than a PS4 because of the insane amount of games available to you, not only PC ones but most consoles too. An expensive rig is a waste of money though.
>>
>>338019919
a $350 dollar PC is basically equivalent to a PS4.
The hardware isn't really overpriced on a PS4, it's actually very slightly cheaper. Sony makes their money through games licensing which adds extra overhead to the cost so the games can never be as cheap as they are on PC. You're paying for a PS4 when you buy games essentially.

I'm a console fag dude but you're full of shit there. If not link me to that $48 Overwatch (PS4)
>>
>>338021809
basically this

let's be honest, a 300$ PC is gonna be somewhat worse than a PS4 specs wise (although remember that PC parts prices are dropping constantly, in fact it might already be the same performance wise) but you've got access to a shitload of older games, and modern games probably will still work on 30fps (which is what you'd get from the ps4 anyway), except they'll look worse.

On top of that you've got emulators, free Internet access, ridiculously cheap games, and the possibility of piracy, even assuming denuvo doesn't get cracked or bypassed - which it already has for some versions, and the rest will follow soon, let's be honest.

Also, you can use KB+M OR Controllers on PC, whatever you prefer.

At the end of the day it's a matter of preference, but personally I'd say a PC is a much better investment
>>
>>338019919
>mid tier pc spec 2013 + 3
>>
>>338022179
Only if the motherboard/case allow for ease of upgrading. A cheapshit PC like that might not be much of an investment.
>>
>>338020461
24 $70 games. what the fuck mate how do you get through that many full games. are you employed sir?
