I played as D.va and occasionally got 3 or 4 gold medals on the team. She's great if you know what to do.
Step 1 is to not treat her as a tank like Rinehardt. Her fuckhuge crit box in the middle of her mech means that she has way less effective health than you think she does
Step 2 is to realise that your boost is on a stupid low cooldown. You are doing best when you are flanking or getting right up in peoples faces. If you see a Widowmaker making herself comfortable somewhere, gun for her. They'll hate you for it.

Reaper/Winston are easy to deal with. They do fuckall damage to you from range, so you just have to fly over to another team mate further away. Make sure to turn the option to prioritize your beam target as guardian angel target from the options menu. They probably used their gapcloser to get over to you, so you just need to keep kiting them if they are chasing you around. Your escape has lower CD.

Winston isn't a normal tank. He doesn't keep your entire team alive in a similar way to Reinhardt, oh no. He jumps into/behind the enemy, picks off snipers, does poke damage, plop shields around to defend himself momentarily, contests points like an ass hole, then jumps away. When you have ulti, you use the knockback and billion health to basically scatter the enemy team, jump around like a retard, and basically annoy the fuck out of your enemies. Will you get the most kills in the game? Probably not. But a good winston can be absolutely devastating nonetheless.

dva is actually one of the best characters, but most people don't know how to play her. For starters, her cannons are shotguns. Up close they actually have very high dps and a lot of maps are close quarters because of objectives. You can get close with her movement skill and reflect plus high health. Dashing isn't perfect, but you can confuse enemy aim by doing this. Jihad is great at stopping campers, but there's one downside. Reinhardt can charge your suicide suit and push it back, so make sure to watch out for this or else you'll teamkill. You can basically solo any enemy or even groups of enemies, but this becomes even easier with a healer and support.

D Va is actually shit.
I know because she's one of my mains.
She's the "normal" tank. She can do any "tank" job, but doesn't excel in any.
Her defense matrix makes a great damage blocker, but Reinhardt's shield is way better.
Her rocket boosters make disruption and mobility a breeze but Winstons got that area covered better too.
Her guns are surprisingly accurate, if you could call it that, it's more like they fire so much and have such a bullet spread it's easy to miss but difficult to not hit, but the weapons are peashooters: even at point blank it takes like 12 shots to kill anything not named Tracer. Any further than that? That's gonna take at least 2 minutes of continuous damage to kill it, you better hope they don't have a medic because they can heal faster than you can deal at any range.
Her out of mech form is surprisingly good, her pistol is accurate and has higher damage than her mech's guns for whatever reason, and she's a smaller target to boot, get some good cover and she's more dangerous now than she was before.
It could be that I'm just waifu fagging here but I think she needs a buff, more than anything.

The shotguns do, eh, "okay" damage right up in the enemy's face, but when your damage is low, your health is easily negated by an insanely huge hitbox and headshot hitbox within that, your shield (which is actually pretty good) lasts for all of a few nanoseconds and your boosters are identical in function to better movement abilities on other heroes, what role do you actually fill?
