As someone that really enjoyed Undertale the progressive stuff didn't bother me despite being strongly opposed to SJW pandering. It just felt like part of the game world. It was hammy and cheesy but so was literally every other aspect of the writing. And generally it was just stuff that was happening, it wasn't part of the themes of the actual game.

In Entry 8 in the true lab is explains that the writer had chosen a vessel. The first Golden flower from the surface the bloomed. It appeared 'just before the queen left'.
Now, Toriel left after what's his forgettable name died which is implied to be a long time ago what with no one knowing who Toriel is, 6 prior humans, and both her and Asgore being immortal. So if Alphys is the writer, she'd have to be A. old as fuck, and more importantly, B. would know who the queen was. But she doesn't recognize her at all, and is shocked that "there's two of them".
